CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Energy Engineer to join our Generation & Energy Management Team in Boston, MA or Rocky Hill, CT , supporting energy‑intensive facilities and mission‑critical infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high‑impact projects, solve technically demanding problems, and support systems that enable operational continuity and next‑generation manufacturing.
What You'll Do:
Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of specifications and reports for mechanical energy, power generation, and facility energy system projects
Develop computation methods, technical reports, and specifications under the guidance of senior staff or technical leadership
Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard procedures and best practices to support system reliability, safety, and performance
Monitor project progress and performance, acting quickly to resolve technical or operational issues that could impact mission‑critical systems
Take responsibility for large portions of projects with oversight from senior staff or management, including field assignments and system assessments
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience required
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Strong working and theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in practical settings
Understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards
Proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $100,000
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
