    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology is hiring an Academic Director & Full-Time Faculty member and is approved by the New York State Education Department and is an ASHA certified program. It offers a 58 credit Master's degree program. Faculty members are involved in teaching, scholarly activities and service to the institution and the community.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>In addition to the traditional duties of the full-time faculty listed below, the director will:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist the Director/Department Chair with administrative responsibilities including generating reports, budget submission, admissions coordination, scheduling of academic classes/calendar, participation in peer reviews, and oversight of student issues and files.</li>\n <li>Support program events such as open houses and collaborate with the program recruiter.</li>\n <li>Teach two courses per semester (with release time from one course). Prepare syllabi, course outlines and assign texts.</li>\n <li>Advise students, maintain completed advisement sheets and submit any remediation forms as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Participate in scholarly activities such as research, publications, presentation, and grant writing.</li>\n <li>Engage in Service by participating in program and University committees and meetings.</li>\n <li>Perform clinical teaching and supervision if applicable to program needs.</li>\n <li>Complete special projects as designated by the Director/Department Chair.</li>\n <li>Assist with the annual report at the end of the academic year and work closely on ASHA reports and state submissions.</li>\n <li>Mentor students on research projects when appropriate.</li>\n <li>Assist in the development of online courses as needed.</li>\n <li>Oversee new program initiatives.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h4>Education/Experience</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>PhD (preferred) or other doctoral equivalent in Speech Pathology or a related field from an accredited university. ABA will be considered.</li>\n <li>ASHA certification</li>\n <li>Eligibility for State licensure</li>\n <li>Knowledge and experience in Adult Communications and Swallowing Disorders is a plus.</li>\n</ul>\n<h4>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.</li>\n <li>Ability to take direction & handle tasks independently, as needed.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and initiate programmatic innovations.</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively teach a variety of subject matters.</li>\n <li>Strong prioritization and writing skills.,</li>\n <li>Ability to handle student issues.</li>\n <li>Familiarity of ASHA and State requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Maximum Salary</h2>USD $115,000.00/Yr.\n<h2>Minimum Salary</h2>USD $92,000.00/Yr.",
