The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized, competent, and professional individual who manages the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering projects including, but not limited to, highways, subdivisions, and land development. Individual should possess a strong knowledge of stormwater, erosion and sediment control, water and sewer design principles and should be able to interpret and apply municipal land use ordinances.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why work for H&K Group, Inc.? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Additional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies</li>\n <li>Prepare thorough site analysis to determine allowable density and layout constraints based upon municipal land use ordinances and site-specific features.</li>\n <li>Prepare horizontal and vertical alignment of street layout and profiles.</li>\n <li>Prepare detailed grading plans.</li>\n <li>Prepare thorough stormwater management design based upon municipal land use ordinances and/or State best management practices/regulations.</li>\n <li>Prepare thorough water supply and sewage facilities design.</li>\n <li>Prepare erosion and sedimentation control/NPDES plans and post construction stormwater management designs in accordance with State best management practices/regulations.</li>\n <li>Prepare utility design and manage utility coordination for various land development projects.</li>\n <li>Manage sub-consultants related to geotechnical, wetlands, traffic, etc.</li>\n <li>Travel to field, project, Township, etc. meetings to communicate project design aspects with Project Managers, Engineers, Township officials and Clients. (A company fleet vehicle will be provided in such instances.)</li>\n <li>Ability to write comprehensive and detailed narratives and various forms of correspondence.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university OR one year of related experience and/or training\n  <ul>\n   <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Ability to read blueprints and job-related documents. </li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of stormwater, erosion, and sediment control</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of water and sewer design principles</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Able to interpret and apply municipal land use ordinances</li>\n <li>Basic computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)</li>\n <li>Experience with specific programs including\n  <ul>\n   <li>AutoCAD 2017 (or later version)</li>\n   <li>AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 (or more recent version)</li>\n   <li>Hydraflow </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Driver’s license and clean driving record</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>2 years of relevant experience and/or training</li>\n <li>Experience using VTPSUHM</li>\n <li>OSHA or other relevant safety certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Occasionally required to\n  <ul>\n   <li>Stand, walk, sit</li>\n   <li>Use hands to finger, handle, feel</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Regularly required to talk and hear</li>\n <li>Vision abilities include \n  <ul>\n   <li>Close</li>\n   <li>Distance</li>\n   <li>Color</li>\n   <li>Ability to adjust focus </li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions</li>\n <li>Noise level is usually moderate</li>\n <li>Hours regularly exceed 40 hours a week</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The H&K Group, Inc. </strong>provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
