Description This position has an END date of May 31, 2028. Location - This role is in-person at North Campus, Edmonton. Position Summary Founded in 1993, the Fred Otto DiscoverE program is a not-for-profit organization that puts our participants first. Our goal is to use hands-on programming to educate and inspire youth, building their skills and confidence in engineering and STEM subjects. We work to break down barriers facing underrepresented groups to ensure that all youth have access to our programs. DiscoverE believes that engineering is for everyone, and we strive to build our team on the foundations of equity, diversity and inclusion. We encourage Indigenous, Black and racialized peoples, persons living with disability and neurodiversity, women, sexual and gender minorities, and members of all minority groups to apply. The Team Lead, Programming ensures that all areas of programming meet or exceed Alberta Education Curriculum standards while creating award-winning programming that gets participants excited about engineering. Responsibilities Initiates, implements and directs development of the program's curriculum, including courses, camps, presentations and workshops for over 10,000 participants each year Conceives, develops and implements the necessary program delivery structure, including the profiles for all instructing personnel, recruitment and retention strategies and training and quality control Is in charge of recruiting over 65 summer instructors to run programs in Edmonton, throughout Alberta, Northern British Columbia and the Northwest Territories Works with partners to develop Classroom Kits to be created, tested, manufactured and distributed to students in Western Canada Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Education, Engineering, Sciences or a related field Previous experience in supervision or in a leadership role required Superior communication skills and customer service skills Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications A valid Alberta Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license with a clean abstract is considered an asset Some technical skills are considered an asset Background in outreach is considered an asset.
