Description

Summary All Native Group, a Division of Ho-Chunk, Incorporated, is seeking a Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Subject Matter Expert to support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense in Arlington, Virginia. The Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice SME will review, provide analysis, development, and implementation of national and DoD policy, guidance, and training as they pertain to national security matters. Essential Functions Provide LE subject matter expertise with national security policy and strategy as it pertains to the Department of Defense and the Military Departments, and how such policy and strategy interface throughout the larger Intelligence, National Security, and related law enforcement communities. Make recommendations on how to properly conduct oversight of all DoD LE activities and assigned LE responsibilities. Provide senior level advice and subject matter expertise on LE missions that fall under the responsibility and purview of the DoD. Produce and disseminate approximately DoD criminal justice information reports and briefings monthly that detail DoD law enforcement activities. Review , coordinate and facilitate national and Defense-level staffing of law enforcement activities/actions. Facilitate cross communications between various DoD, Intelligence Community, Department of Justice, and Department of Homeland Security partners. Draft, revise, and update, DoD policies related to law enforcement authorities, law enforcement activities, military justice information management and criminal justice information management on an annual basis. Organize, facilitate, manage program content, and coordinate support and participation for quarterly meetings. Assist DoD Law Enforcement staff in policy development and execution of oversight management missions. Serve as lead to review and consolidate data requirements from identified statues and provide an overview of the data required (to include the data standards), the reporting frequency required, and the historic (and anticipated) reports that will be needed to provide program management as needed, interview various stakeholders within the Department to ascertain internal data requirements for and from the Defense LE community. This will include discussions with stakeholder communities such as security (entry control, personnel security, etc.) and counter-insider threat, as well as the research needs supporting prevention activities. Organize, facilitate, manage program content, and coordinate support and participation for the quarterly meetings. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Expresses or exchanges ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Frequently moves standard office equipment up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work indoors 90% of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend hours required, as required by business need. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Experience Minimum five (5) years’ experience in law enforcement, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of criminal law, criminal procedures, and the working of the criminal justice system. Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws governing law enforcement practices. Education Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Criminology, Law, or related field preferred. Advanced degrees (Master’s or Ph.D.) are highly desirable. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences. Analytical mindset with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong professional relationships. Ethical and unbiased approach to handling sensitive information and legal matters. Security Clearance Must be a U.S. citizen. Must possess and maintain an Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with sensitive compartmented information (SCI) eligibility and current background investigation.
