    "description": "<p>This position will guide children to their fullest potential by meeting their needs through assisting the classroom teachers in the care and instruction of the students and the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. During non-school calendar days (childcare days), the Assistant Teacher will be responsible for collaborating to create and implement lesson plans and classroom management, as well as all other essential functions.</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Know, implement, and adhere to the Texas Health and Human Services, Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards, Workforce Solutions Permian Basin Child Care Services criteria, and Midland College policies</li>\r\n\t<li>Positive job attitude, cooperative with parents, children, and staff</li>\r\n\t<li>Flexibility, willingness to accept change, and keep up with the current trends in the field of early childhood development</li>\r\n\t<li>Work collaboratively to implement developmentally appropriate classroom management, curriculum planning, and implementing of small group experiences, interact and supervise children, including potty training where necessary</li>\r\n\t<li>Collaborate to observe and record student progress through anecdotal records, adopted assessments, and planning for individual needs</li>\r\n\t<li>Use appropriate guidance techniques with children, parents, and staff</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintain up-to-date children&rsquo;s records, release, and emergency forms</li>\r\n\t<li>Light daily cleaning of classroom environment, including disinfecting and light daily laundry</li>\r\n\t<li>Assist in implementing CCL health and safety standards, including keeping the classroom clean and orderly for fire and health standards inspections</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintain 30 clock hours of early childhood training annually to meet CCL guidelines from date of hire</li>\r\n\t<li>Participate in staff development activities and training</li>\r\n\t<li>Dependability in attendance and adherence to all-time policies</li>\r\n\t<li>Other duties as assigned</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Good physical health, energetic, nurturing, and patient</li>\r\n\t<li>Able to lift children up to 40 pounds, assist with potty training, walking, bending, standing, stooping, reaching, squatting down, stretching, sitting on the floor, rising up from low chairs or when sitting on the floor, and must be able to participate with children in gross motor activities</li>\r\n\t<li>Ethical behavior, security sensitive work, team-oriented, cooperation with coworkers, secure work environment, confidentiality required</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n",
