As a <strong>Project Engineer</strong>, you&rsquo;ll take ownership of <strong>design development and technical management</strong> for assigned engineering projects&mdash;ensuring our systems meet customer requirements, quality standards, and budget goals.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll work closely with <strong>shipyard personnel, customers, program management, marketing, vendors, and purchasing</strong> to bring innovative and reliable marine systems to life. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make an impact in the <strong>design and integration of shipboard systems</strong>.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Lead the design, development, and execution</strong> of assigned engineering projects within budget, scope, and schedule.</li><li><strong>Interpret and ensure compliance</strong> with customer purchase specifications, maritime regulations, and classification society standards.</li><li><strong>Develop design concepts and product specifications</strong> that meet functional, cost, and performance objectives for marine applications.</li><li><strong>Direct and coordinate the work of project and design engineers</strong>, providing technical guidance and leadership as needed.</li><li><strong>Prepare or oversee the creation of layout, detail, and assembly drawings</strong>; perform necessary engineering calculations and analyses.</li><li><strong>Specify components, equipment, and materials</strong> used in shipboard systems, coordinating with vendors and suppliers to meet project needs.</li><li><strong>Collaborate with shipyard operations and production teams</strong> to ensure design intent is achieved during fabrication and installation.</li><li><strong>Support proposal development</strong>, preparing estimates of engineering hours and material requirements based on customer and marketing specifications.</li><li><strong>Participate in design and technical reviews</strong>, providing solutions for engineering challenges as they arise.</li><li><strong>Review and approve all drawings and technical documentation</strong> for accuracy and compliance prior to release.</li><li><strong>Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams</strong> to align project requirements and deliverables.</li><li><strong>Perform other related duties</strong> in support of department and company objectives.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) or Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.)</strong>.</li><li><strong>Minimum of 5 years of experience</strong> in <strong>mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic design for powered equipment or shipboard systems</strong>.</li><li><strong>Direct experience in the maritime or shipbuilding industry is required.</strong></li><li>Strong understanding of shipboard systems, marine equipment integration, and applicable standards/regulations (ABS, USCG, DNV, etc.).</li><li>Ability to travel on short notice when required.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Skills &amp; Competencies</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.</li></ul><p><strong>Work Environment &amp; Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Role involves <strong>extended periods of computer and desk work</strong>.</li><li>Occasional travel to shipyards, vendors, or customer sites may be required.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Join Us</strong></p><p>As part of our engineering team, you&rsquo;ll help shape the next generation of <strong>maritime systems and equipment</strong> that keep vessels operating safely and efficiently.
