As Area Market Sector Leader you will serve as overall lead across the MOKS Area by setting vision and direction for implementation of firm’s strategy to expand and provide aviation services to current and potential Aviation Market Sector Clients. In addition, will facilitate development and implementation of Aviation Market Sector business strategies and operating plans across the firm in coordination with Aviation market sector leadership, area business group leadership, area operational leadership, client managers and business class directors.
Responsibilities: The MOKS Area Aviation Market Sector Lead will have a focus on client management and development, serving as a client manager and project manager for future assignments and pursuits with key clients in the area. This individual will be expected to identify and develop project opportunities, serve as a pursuit champion, and act as a resource for HDR pursuits. Duties will also include planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of large multi-discipline projects or medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity.
Business Development Responsibilities – The position will be the responsible for assessing the Area’s marketplace and determining the best business approach to win and secure contracts. Business development efforts will need to work cross-sector with other market sectors as well as other market sectors in other business groups. Serve as the Client Manager for selected key clients within the Area and be active and visible in the industry. Help develop and set Aviation Market Sector Strategy for HDR. Promote the marketing and delivery of all HDR services to clients while working with our client managers Work with Area Business Group Managers and other leaders on development and delivery of area and market sector initiatives and goals. Work with the client development leaders to drive client development and pursuit processes based on proven capture techniques. Lead selected pursuits through client relationship development and/or through development of strategy and participation in pursuit activities. Participate in industry associations and serve as a company role-model in business and community organizations at local, area and national levels. Identify key investments (acquisitions and technology) that will maintain or drive HDR into industry leadership positions. Develop relationships with industry counterparts in other consulting organizations. Develop relationships with senior leadership in key client organizations. Staff Development Responsibilities – The position will seek opportunities to enhance our practices so that we will best perform within the marketplace to win new work and to provide opportunities for staff growth and development. They will also lead and/or assist with the identification and recruitment of prospective future market sector employees. Assume responsibility for coordination within the Area and support of work-sharing among departments. Work with the Area, business class directors and practice groups to drive technical excellence and coordinate technical staff to support the program and marketing efforts. Work with the Area Business Development Leader and Area Management teams to coordinate staffing/recruiting plans for key hires and assist local leadership as necessary with local hires. Identify resource gaps and support talent management and recruiting. Support to Operations – The position will assist the Area Business Group Manager to deliver services within the Aviation Market Sector. Key responsibilities consist of helping to drive client management, monitoring and taking action regarding market sector profit and loss, ensuring project delivery and supporting the QA/QC program. Take on Project Management Assignments that make sense for this leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of experience in aviation planning and/or engineering.
If an engineer, maintain engineering registration with Area states. #LI-MV3
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, planning or a related field A minimum of 10 years of industry experience Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services Experienced in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits Experienced in overall staff development to include recruiting, career path and professional growth Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector Ability to work cooperatively with Regional Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Directors, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers Demonstrated commitment to HDR values.
