Join us in making a real difference in the health of our community.</em></p>\n<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterology Physician (MD/DO) to provide comprehensive GI care to residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. The physician will evaluate and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions while collaborating with Advanced Practice Providers and facility staff.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>• Provide on-site gastroenterology consultations for SNF/LTC residents</p>\n<p>• Diagnose and manage GI conditions including GERD, GI bleeding, liver disease, constipation, dysphagia, and IBD</p>\n<p>• Order, interpret, and act upon labs, imaging, stool studies, and diagnostic tests</p>\n<p>• Perform GI-related procedures within scope of training, as indicated</p>\n<p>• Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and interdisciplinary teams</p>\n<p>• Optimize medications, nutrition plans, and bowel regimens</p>\n<p>• Ensure accurate, regulatory-compliant EMR documentation</p>\n<p>• Support quality improvement and hospital readmission reduction initiatives</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school</p>\n<p>• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency</p>\n<p>• Fellowship training in Gastroenterology preferred</p>\n<p>• Active and unrestricted New York State medical license</p>\n<p>• DEA registration</p>\n<p>• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology</p>\n<p>• Experience in SNF/LTC or post-acute care preferred</p>\n<h2>Equal Opportunity Employer</h2>\n<p><strong><em>Essen Health care is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we seek candidates who desire to work in and serve an ethnically diverse population.</em></strong></p>",
