    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Strathcona County is seeking a skilled and analytical Fleet Analyst to support the optimization of our fleet operations through strategic analysis, lifecycle planning, and performance reporting.</p><p>The Fleet Analyst provides analytical, technical, and operational support to optimize Strathcona County’s fleet performance. This role plays a key part in vehicle lifecycle planning, asset management, performance measurement, and data-driven decision-making to ensure fleet operations are efficient, safe, cost-effective, and aligned with corporate objectives</p><p><br><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain and analyze the fleet asset registry, including lifecycle milestones, utilization metrics, warranty timelines, and replacement triggers</li><li>Support the development of annual and multi-year fleet replacement plans using forecasting and evidence-based recommendations</li><li>Conduct lifecycle, cost-benefit, and total cost of ownership analyses to support procurement decisions, including lease/rental versus purchase evaluations</li><li>Monitor fleet industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to support strategic planning and sustainability initiatives</li><li>Extract, clean, and analyze data from fleet management systems such as AssetWorks</li><li>Assist in developing dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports for leadership, internal departments, and Council reporting</li><li>Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including:<ul><li>Fleet utilization</li><li>Vehicle reliability</li><li>Downtime</li><li>Maintenance backlog</li><li>Cost per kilometre/hour</li><li>Fuel and energy consumption</li><li>Idle time</li></ul></li><li>Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve asset performance, reduce operating costs, and enhance operational efficiency</li><li>Support maintenance planning through analysis of equipment failure trends, preventive maintenance compliance, and work order data</li><li>Identify and support implementation of operational efficiency improvements, quality assurance initiatives, and process enhancements</li><li>Troubleshoot data anomalies and recurring equipment issues to support continuous improvement</li><li>Ensure fleet asset management processes align with Strathcona County policies, industry standards and applicable legislation</li><li>Provide data-driven support to Fleet Operations and internal departments by interpreting fleet performance, replacement strategies and operational fleet plans</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications and Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Engineering Technology, Public Administration, or a related field along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (with a degree) or 5 years of experience (with a diploma) in fleet operations, asset management, analytics, or a related technical environment<ul><li>&nbsp;a recognized Trades or Journeyperson certification (e.g., Automotive Service Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician) may be accepted as an equivalent qualification</li></ul></li><li>Fleet-specific certifications (e.g., NAFA CAFM/CAFS) would be considered an asset</li><li>Experience in fleet operations, asset management, data analysis, or municipal/public sector operations is considered an asset</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and provide practical recommendations</li><li>Experience using fleet management systems (e.g., AssetWorks) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI is an asset</li><li>Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to prepare reports and present findings clearly</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities</li></ul><p><br><strong>Who We Are:</strong></p><p>Strathcona County is a specialized municipality located in the heart of Alberta. &nbsp;Our vision is to become Canada’s most livable community, where our workplace culture and identity are supported by our people plan and values of integrity, respect, safety, collaboration, and accountability. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Why Join Strathcona County: (depending on position)</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, which includes:<ul><li>Extended health and dental coverage &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Health and wellness spending account &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Life and disability insurance</li><li>Retirement and pension programs&nbsp;</li><li>Earned day off program</li><li>Employee and family assistance program</li></ul></li><li>Commitment to employee development, through internal and external training and development opportunities</li><li>Well-being programs and a safety culture focused on physical and psychological health in the workplace</li></ul><p><br>Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.</p><p>This competition may be used to fill future vacancies for similar positions within the next 6 months. &nbsp;</p><p>Strathcona County is committed to an inclusive, respectful, and equitable workplace that represents the community we serve.
