This role supports a fast paced, high-mix, environment serving aerospace, defense, space and industrial markets where quality, traceability and on-time delivery are critical. Monitor and track material, verify certifications, coordinate outside processing and communicate material shortages and risks.</p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p><ul data-pasted=\"true\"><li data-pasted=\"true\">Ensure timely and cost-effective availability of raw materials (exotic metals, specialty alloys, bar stock, plate), and machined components, are available to support precision manufacturing operations.</li><li>Work with cross-functional teams to prioritize jobs and identify and resolve material shortages.</li><li>Manage and verify, heat lots, traceability and material certifications in compliance with customer, aerospace and defense quality standards.</li><li>Track material movement through production, including cutting, staging, outside processing (heat treat, plating) and return to stock.</li><li>Monitor and report out on inventory levels to prevent production interruptions while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.</li><li>Prepare material requisitions to measure against production sales orders for approval of material purchases.</li><li>Maintain clear and accurate manual logs, job notes and material status reports for production visibility.</li><li>Collaborate with production planning to align material availability with production manufacturing plan.</li><li>Review prints and specifications to confirm correct alloy type, size and condition before releasing to production floor.</li><li>Work closely with Purchasing to expedite critical materials and communicate and resolve supplier delivery issues.</li><li>Support engineering changes, new production introductions and customer-driven design revisions.</li><li>Analyze demand forecasts, safety stock levels and lead times to improve planning accuracy.</li><li>Track and report key supply chain metrics such as on-time delivery, inventory turns and material shortages.</li><li>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization and process efficiency.</li><li>Communicate inventory issues, schedule changes and/or material cancellations.</li><li>Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.</li><li>Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.</li></ul><p>POSITION REQUIREMENTS</p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
