POSITION SUMMARY
Ensure timely and cost-effective availability of raw materials (exotic metals, specialty alloys), and components, are available to support precision manufacturing operations. This role supports a fast paced, high-mix, environment serving aerospace, defense, space and industrial markets where quality, traceability and on-time delivery are critical. Monitor and track material, verify certifications, coordinate outside processing and communicate material shortages and risks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure timely and cost-effective availability of raw materials (exotic metals, specialty alloys, bar stock, plate), and machined components, are available to support precision manufacturing operations. Work with cross-functional teams to prioritize jobs and identify and resolve material shortages. Manage and verify, heat lots, traceability and material certifications in compliance with customer, aerospace and defense quality standards. Track material movement through production, including cutting, staging, outside processing (heat treat, plating) and return to stock. Monitor and report out on inventory levels to prevent production interruptions while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory. Prepare material requisitions to measure against production sales orders for approval of material purchases. Maintain clear and accurate manual logs, job notes and material status reports for production visibility. Collaborate with production planning to align material availability with production manufacturing plan. Review prints and specifications to confirm correct alloy type, size and condition before releasing to production floor. Work closely with Purchasing to expedite critical materials and communicate and resolve supplier delivery issues. Support engineering changes, new production introductions and customer-driven design revisions. Analyze demand forecasts, safety stock levels and lead times to improve planning accuracy. Track and report key supply chain metrics such as on-time delivery, inventory turns and material shortages. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization and process efficiency. Communicate inventory issues, schedule changes and/or material cancellations. Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback. Other duties as assigned, requested or needed. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field. 3-5 years material planning/purchasing (exotic metals) or supply chain experience, including ERP/MRP systems or equivalent of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong and effective communication skills. Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing setting. Knowledge of exotic metals in machine environment. Solid understanding of inventory control. Proficient to advanced computer and excel skills. Ability to manage priorities in fast paced, customer driven environment. High level of attention to detail and thorough completion of work tasks. High attention to detail, especially in documentation and compliance.
