    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Adjunct Instructor, RECR 151 or 152 (the course may change depending on the teaching qualifications of the candidate)</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>George Mason University Korea is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual for a part-time position in <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">RECR 151 or 152 (Badminton or Pickleball) </span>for the Fall 2026 semester, beginning August 2026. <br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span> </p>\n<p>We are looking for a dynamic, innovative individual to teach RECR 151 or 152, 1 section/ 1 credit. This is a one-semester Adjunct Faculty position.  The Fall 2026 course schedule is fixed and noted below.  </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday, 6pm-7:15pm</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About the Position</span> </p>\n<p>This is a part-time, non-tenure track position. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason’s academic and culturally inclusive environment. <br><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">RECR 151: Badminton: Introduction (1 credit)<br></span>Introduces the basic skills, rules, and strategies of badminton. Students will learn fundamental techniques and proper etiquette for both singles and doubles play.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">RECR 152: Pickleball (1 credit)<br></span>Introduces the essential skills and knowledge required to play pickleball, including forehand and backhand strokes, volleys, serves, and game strategies for both singles and doubles play.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of a Master’s degree in related field by January 2026. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with at least 4 semesters of similar courses at the college undergraduate level. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven ability to collaborate with faculty of multiple disciplines. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Share the department’s commitment to Inclusive Excellence in transdisciplinary education and research. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to use campus technology tools used to teach in multiple modalities (Canvas, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.) and willingness to adapt to new technologies that might be adopted by the campus in the future. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completion of a Terminal degree in related field by January 2026. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience teaching diverse students and working effectively in diverse teams. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>International teaching experience. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who May Apply -</span></p>\n<p>Local applicants authorized to work in the Republic of Korea, including those who hold F series visas.
