Occasional evening and weekend commitments may be required.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">The Spanish Teacher supports the academic and social-emotional development of Elementary-aged children through the creation and delivery of engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction that fosters curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and collaborator who builds positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families. This individual is also committed to ongoing professional growth and aligns with Childpeace’s mission and values.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Essential Duties and Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Teaching, Collaboration, and Classroom Support:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Plan and deliver effective Spanish lessons for Elementary-aged children, following a schedule that aligns with the children's morning Work Cycle</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Develop culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate relationships with students</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Adapt lessons to meet a range of learning needs</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Foster a positive classroom culture that reflects identity-aware teaching and respect for diversity</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Communicate clearly and consistently with families about student progress and learning</span></li>\n<li>Collaborate with the Elementary team and Metro Middle School Spanish Teacher to foster a collegial staff culture and ensure continuity of the Spanish program across levels.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Uphold professional expectations for conduct, communication, and confidentiality</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Model and participate in maintaining a clean, organized learning environment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Contribute to program-wide goals and continuous improvement initiatives</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Report to and participate in evaluation by their Program Directors</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education and Experience Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>BA in Spanish or a related field required</li>\n<li>MA in Spanish or related field and/or relevant teaching experience preferred</li>\n<li>Minimum of two years of successful Spanish teaching experience at the elementary level</li>\n<li>Comprehensive approach to language instruction, including grammar, listening, speaking, and cultural literacy</li>\n<li>Experience in student-centered, project-based, or Montessori education preferred</li>\n<li>Proficiency with technology tools and communication platforms</li>\n<li>Native Spanish speaker preferred</li>\n<li>Must pass a background check and be eligible to work in the U.S.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Certifications and Trainings (provided by the School)</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Food Handler Card</li>\n<li>CPR/First Aid Certification</li>\n<li>Recognizing &amp; Reporting Child Abuse &amp; Neglect</li>\n<li>24 hours of documented professional development each school year</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About Childpeace</span></p>\n<p>Childpeace Montessori School is the only AMI-recognized school in Portland offering Toddler, Primary, and Elementary programs in one central location.
