    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) help fulfill the mission of People's Community Clinic by promoting and facilitating excellent health care for patients.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position works as a member of a care team to coordinate patient care and support patients and families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change. Care team members are expected to assess and manage the health needs of the patient population and to communicate effectively with all patients, especially vulnerable populations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<strong>North Clinic Location: </strong>1101 Camino La Costa, Austin, TX 78752 \n<strong>Compensation: </strong>$24.50 - $30.50 hourly based on experience and qualifications\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as a resource and subject-matter expert for Medical Assistants, providing guidance and support as needed.</li>\n <li>Actively participate in care team huddles, staff meetings, and collaborative problem-solving related to clinical operations.</li>\n <li>Assist in clinic operations by working on the floor as necessary to ensure efficient patient flow, including but not limited to: rooming patients, gathering focused patient information, vital signs, point of care testing, immunizations, medication administration, procedures, and patient call backs.</li>\n <li>Assist with any clinic emergencies within the scope of practice.</li>\n <li>Manage and complete medication prior authorizations.</li>\n <li>Manage and complete prescription refill requests according to delegated or standing orders.</li>\n <li>Make patient follow-up calls as instructed by providers or per delegated orders, including communicating laboratory and diagnostic test results to patients as directed.</li>\n <li>Complete provider-directed tasks such as managing paperwork requiring provider review or signature, ensuring timely processing and communication.</li>\n <li>Educate patients on disease processes, medication management, and health promotion strategies.</li>\n <li>Facilitate communication among patients, providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.</li>\n <li>Identify gaps in patient care and collaborate with the care team to address and close them.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Clinical Compliance and Quality Improvement:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in the training of Medical Assistants.</li>\n <li>Identify and support opportunities for workflow and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.</li>\n <li>Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines, organizational policies and procedures, including standing delegation orders.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED required</li>\n <li>Graduation from an accredited vocational nursing program</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Two years of healthcare experience preferred</li>\n <li>One year in a primary care clinic setting strongly preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.</li>\n <li>Proficient in basic LVN nursing skills and laboratory procedures.</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and superior customer service skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication abilities.</li>\n <li>Effective multitasking, time management, and task prioritization skills.</li>\n <li>Competent in the use of computers and electronic medical records systems.</li>\n <li>Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.</li>\n <li>Capable of working independently while successfully accomplishing assigned tasks.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>License/Certification:</strong> Current, unrestricted LVN license from the Texas Board of Nursing required.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<strong>Our Benefits Include:</strong>\n<ul>\n <li>18 PTO days per year & 11 paid holidays</li>\n <li>Major Medical Health Insurance Coverage.
