JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Blackbird Vineyards Wine Consultant Position Status: Part-Time Non-Exempt, Hourly + Commission Reports to: Blackbird Vineyards Hospitality Manager Location: RiverHouse Napa, CA JOB DESCRIBTION: The wine consultant will work directly with the Hospitality Manger to build lasting relationships with wine and lifestyle product enthusiasts. In addition to hosting guests in a retail setting, the Wine Consultant will foster new and existing sales and memberships by actively conducting individualized outreach via email, phone, virtual tasting, social networking, and in-person events with Blackbird Vineyards’ private client team. Responsibilities include all aspects of the client relationship – direct sales, client outreach, and service management of client relationships. Management of the sales process includes detailed sales administration in the company’s commerce and customer relationship management systems. Participation in events in the afternoon or evening as deemed appropriate to the business will also be included in the normal duties, including setup, cleanup duties throughout each event and normal business day. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Always provide the highest quality service to customers and co-workers. Open and close the business on a daily basis according to outlined procedures. Set up, host, re-set private wine tastings. Conduct point of sale procedures. Monitor hospitality areas to ensure they are kept clean and safe. Conduct weekly email, phone, and video outreach to new and existing clients based on client purchase patterns. Nurture potential and existing client/guest relationships with the goal of building the membership base. Follow up on sales leads from internal and external sources. Participate in wine inventory procedures. Establish and maintain a positive relationship with referral companies and individuals. Develop and maintain a working knowledge/interest in art and antiques. Maintain familiarity with Napa Valley history, wineries of interest, and other hospitality businesses. Contribute to sales strategies and staff motivation. Complete any additional tasks as assigned by the Hospitality Manager or Director of CRM. Ask for the sale. Experience/Education Requirements: 3 years experience in sales for a winery or premium consumer goods company. Computer proficiency: POS software experience, web-based software – including Salesforce.com. Ability to prioritize and work with a sense of urgency while still paying attention to service detail. Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task numerous projects at one time. Exemplary interpersonal communication skills. B.A./B.S. degree preferred but not required. Valid CA Driver’s license. Requirements: Must be able to work in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Must be able to move up to 50 pounds. Must be 21 years of age or older.
