This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys digging into existing systems, improving them, and seeing the direct impact of their work on business outcomes.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Primary Location:</strong> Toronto, ON</p>\n<p><strong>Work Model: </strong> Hybrid 3-Days Onsite</p>\n<p><strong>Employment Type: </strong> Contractor</p>\n<p><strong>Vacancy Status: </strong> Backfill</p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Modify and enhance SAS, SQL, and data integration processes to support migration from legacy systems to modern platforms</li>\n <li>Convert Datameer workflows to Dataiku and support related testing and validation activities</li>\n <li>Translate business requirements into SAS and SQL-based technical solutions</li>\n <li>Convert legacy stored procedures and database logic into optimized SQL scripts</li>\n <li>Create and maintain data mapping, transformation logic, and lineage documentation</li>\n <li>Perform data validation, reconciliation, and testing to ensure data accuracy and completeness</li>\n <li>Support business process verification and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities</li>\n <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders</li>\n <li>Work independently to deliver assigned tasks within project timelines</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field</li>\n <li>5+ years of hands-on experience as an SAS/SQL Developer</li>\n <li>Strong SAS programming experience, including Data Step, Macros, PROC, and PROC SQL</li>\n <li>Advanced SQL development skills, including query optimization and data manipulation</li>\n <li>Experience with data migration, ETL processes, and data integration</li>\n <li>Experience creating data mapping and lineage documentation</li>\n <li>Experience converting legacy database processes and stored procedures</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Python for data processing or automation</li>\n <li>Ability to perform light Business Analyst activities, including requirements gathering and documentation</li>\n <li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills</li>\n <li>Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment</li>\n <li>SAS certification required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated proficiency through technical assessment</li>\n <li>Experience working in large-scale data migration or modernization projects</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>NICE TO HAVE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with Hadoop, Netezza, Datameer, and/or Dataiku</li>\n <li>Experience supporting analytics, campaign management, reporting, scorecards, or data curation processes</li>\n <li>Exposure to data warehousing concepts and large enterprise data environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABOUT ADASTRA</strong></p>\n<p>Adastra is a global leader in AI and data-driven transformation, helping organizations lead with artificial intelligence—responsibly, strategically, and at scale.
