Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; some weekends and on-call days as required. This position may be filled as a Parks Maintenance Technician I or Parks Maintenance Technician II.</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">&bull; Loads and unloads construction materials and bench stock supplies.</p><p>&bull; Cleans, disinfects, and paints park restrooms and pavilions.</p><p>&bull; Maintains park and pool facilities in a clean and safe condition.</p><p>&bull; Operates power tools and light construction equipment.</p><p>&bull; Repairs water lines, trims trees, inspects playgrounds, and sprays herbicide.</p><p>&bull; Makes recommendations that impact the budget.</p><p>&bull; Performs rough painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs and maintenance.</p><p>&bull; Operates grounds maintenance hand equipment.</p><p>&bull; Operates pick-up trucks, tractors, and mowers.</p><p>&bull; Mows grass in city parks and at municipal buildings.</p><p>&bull; Performs minor maintenance on vehicle, lawn mowers, and other small equipment.</p><p>&bull; Performs other job-related duties as required.</p><p>&bull; Assists other City of Schertz Departments as needed.</p><p>&bull; Performs pool maintenance and monitoring of pool chemicals.</p><p>&bull; Performs other duties as assigned.</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p><p>&bull; Requires High School Diploma or GED, and one (1) year of related work experience.</p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIRED:</u></strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">&bull; Requires Pool Operator certification</p><p>&bull; Class &ldquo;B&rdquo; CDL valid driver&rsquo;s license, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.</p><p><strong>To view the full Job Description, click the attachment.</strong></p><p><strong>Job Post Closing Date: &nbsp;Open Until Filled</strong></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
