This position is responsible for </span>planning and executing programs while providing support to community workers and clients during activities.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position reports to <em>Manager, Community Access and Maintenance</em>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">To be eligible to participate in Canada Summer Jobs, Candidates Must:</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;</li>\n<li>Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigrant and Refugee Protection Act* and;</li>\n<li>Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The successful candidate for this position must possess the following qualifications:</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Enrollment in a degree or diploma program related to Health &amp; Wellness, Gerontology, or Social Services is an asset </span></li>\n<li><span>Proficient in the use of computers, including the Microsoft Office suite.</span></li>\n<li><span>Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The successful candidate for this position must be able to:</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills required to succeed in a collaborative, team-oriented working environment.</span></li>\n<li><span>Demonstrate ability to work through customer issues to achieve a desired outcome. </span></li>\n<li><span>Adapt and change accordingly to plans and circumstances proactively.</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Specific</span><br></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Maintain accurate and up to date membership files for seniors in the community (Hard and electronic copies).</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist in developing and executing membership and community service programs and activities.</span></li>\n<li><span>Register new members &amp; renew client membership. </span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to manage multiple administrative responsibilities through strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist in special event planning for job fairs. </span></li>\n<li><span>Roll out Marketing and Promotion for a Home Maintenance Brokerage Program.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">KEY ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Provide services in keeping with the organization’s Mission, Vision and Beliefs and Resident Declaration of Values. </span></li>\n<li><span>Adhere to the principles and expectations outlined in the Code of Conduct.</span></li>\n<li><span>Adhere to the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA 2010) as outlined in the organization privacy policies and procedures. </span></li>\n<li><span>Perform the functions of job description in compliance with the Health and Safety practices of the organization and in accordance with the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act. </span></li>\n<li><span>Participate in the continuous quality improvement activities of the organization in order to advance a culture of quality and support ongoing compliance with CARF Accreditation standards. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Salary: $18.60 per hour</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Note:</span><span> This position is funded for 35 hours in total.
