Placefinder - Cosan Nua East
12 Month FTC with a view to permanency
Hybrid Working - Full time 35 hours per week
€34,093.59 per Annum
Scope of Responsibility:
To work as part of the Cosan Nua team in supporting service users with the aim of achieving progression out of homelessness. To engage with landlords and Estate Agents to develop Homeless HAP move-on opportunities, working to the ethos of Housing First and an interagency approach.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
To undertake direct resettlement work via case management approach with Depaul service users as part of the Cosan Nua team
To liaise closely with keyworkers/case workers from Depaul services so as to understand clients’ resettlement needs and secure suitable HHAP opportunities
To engage with Landlords and Estate Agents to source suitable HHAP tenancies for service users
To liaise with Local Authorities and other agencies about clients’ housing registration status
To operate a viewings broadcasting service for Depaul service users
To provide informational/educational support and advice to service-users, helping them achieve a move-on
When required to advocate for fast tracking of HHAP applications, deposits, advance rents
As per need, to accompany clients to viewings etc.
To develop and maintain robust, effective working relationships with relevant agencies, using an interagency approach.
To maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with GDPR, and other Depaul Policies and Procedures using the correct tools (including Salesforce, Excel, PASS).
To prepare relevant reports as requested by the Manager.
To participate actively in case reviews, team meetings, external meetings, as directed by the Manager.
To work creatively and exercise initiative to help the service meet its core objectives and ensure service user’s needs are met
The above list is not exhaustive; additional areas of responsibility may be added over time and flexibility to cover for other staff roles is required from time to time.
Person Requirements:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Social Studies or Case Management Accredited Qualification
Have at least 1 years’ experience working in the Social Care field
Full valid licence and access to a vehicle (essential for travel purposes)
One year experience of collaborative interagency work
One year of regular use of IT systems with a good proficiency in Excel, Word, OTIS, Email
Experience liaising with private landlords and estate agents to secure tenancies.
Knowledge of relevant housing schemes e.g. Homeless HAP, Rent Supplement, Local Authority Allocations Schemes, Approved Housing Bodies.
Experienced in using the Case Management Toolkit, e.g. Safety and Well-being Assessment & Management, Needs Assessment and Support planning
A commitment to the Housing First ethos in all service-user work
Professional, self-motivated and working on own initiative to consistently deliver high quality service
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills when working with diverse groups of service-users and professionals
Strong team-worker who actively contributes to the team
Solution-focused to overcome barriers and advocate for service users
In-depth understanding of why people become homeless or may be at risk of homelessness and the issues they can present with
Strong collaborator with other agencies, both statutory and voluntary
An ability to work according to the principles of Low Threshold and Harm Reduction
An understanding of the health and safety issues in regard to lone working

Annual Leave Up to 3 years' service: 25 days per year
3 years' up to 5 years' service: 27 days per year
Over 5 years' service: 30 working days per year (Exclusive of bank and statutory holidays)
10 public holidays each year with Good Friday as discretionary day. Day off and day pay for Christmas Day,
St.Stephen's Day, and New Year's Day worked for shift workers.
Non-Shift Workers: Paid day off on public holidays.
Shift Workers: Expected to work on public holidays; receive an additional day of annual leave in lieu.
Non-Rostered Employees: May be entitled to one-fifth of the normal weekly rate of remuneration for the public holiday.
