    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Route Helper (Temporary Summer) Position available </strong><strong>in Syracuse, NY !</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The regular work schedule is <em>(Monday thru Friday)</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Schedule:  May to August</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>$19/hour</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>About the Role:</u></strong></p>\n<p>As a core member of our DSD<em> </em>team, you will be expected to: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ride along with one of our DSD drivers and assist with their daily deliveries throughout designated route area</li>\n <li>Help to further the presence of Perry's Ice Cream in the community!</li>\n</ul>\n<p>As your employer, Perry’s will help you to achieve all of the above goals through feedback, education, and continuous professional development.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>What We’re Looking For:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous route helper experience is a plus;</li>\n <li>Retail / frozen food sales, merchandising, and execution experience is a plus;</li>\n <li>Familiarity with the supermarket, convenience store, and drug store channels;</li>\n <li>Ability to quickly build quality relationships with customers and other team members;</li>\n <li>Physical ability to consistently and repetitively lift & carry up to 75 pounds, bend, and twist while merchandising products, and ability to push & pull a store dolly loaded with up to approximately 100 – 500 pounds of product.  Additionally, be able to work in a cold environment, such as a walk in freezer with a temperature of -10º to -20ºF;</li>\n <li>Accountability to exercise safe behavior;</li>\n <li>Flexibility to work irregular schedule including layover;</li>\n <li>Good communication skills;</li>\n <li>Passion for customer service and a positive attitude to represent yourself and Perry’s in the highest quality; and</li>\n <li>High integrity and commitment to teamwork.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Essential Duties:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Working with and talking about ice cream most of your day</strong>.  How <strong><em>cool</em></strong> is that!</li>\n <li>Starting your day between 3:30 am & 5am to ride on a freezer truck with a route delivery driver for up to 12 hours in a day to deliver ice cream and other partner brand products to various types of accounts such as: convenience stores; drug stores; supermarkets; and independent grocery stores.  But hey, <strong>generally no weekend work</strong>!</li>\n <li>Further the presence of Perry’s Ice Cream by merchandising <strong>current inventory to maximize attractiveness to the customer</strong>.</li>\n <li>One <strong><em>cool</em></strong> thing you will do, okay… really <strong><em>cold</em></strong> thing you will do is work in store freezers and the back of the freezer truck to stock shelves, organize back stock, and pull product, but fear not, we provide gloves and uniform shirts to support your safety.</li>\n <li><strong>Work with a team</strong> to ensure outstanding execution with at each account by proactively communicating with both internal and external customers.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Why Perry’s?</u></strong><u></u></p>\n<p><strong>Working with and talking about ice cream… how <em>cool</em> is that?</strong></p>\n<p>Behind every bite of Cookie Dough and every scoop of Panda Paws is a passionate team bringing hard work and creative ideas to the table.
