    "descriptionText": "Salary: USD 100,000–120,000\n\n Description\n\n Summary \n\nWe are seeking a  Manufacturing Equipment Engineer  to take full technical ownership of our production and R&D equipment lifecycle. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Facilities and EHS, you will lead equipment readiness, installation, and long term support for our pilot line. You will serve as the primary internal expert, working cross functionally with OEMs and engineers to ensure our systems are flawlessly documented, maintained, and optimized for growth.\n\n Job Responsibilities \n\n•        Support equipment readiness for production and R&D equipment, with primary focus on pilot line installation, startup, and stable operation.\n\n•        Participate in OEM and internal design review meetings after supplier selection to develop strong understanding of equipment operation, controls, interfaces, and support requirements.\n\n•        Review equipment layouts, utility matrix, exhaust and abatement requirements, interlocks, safety requirements, commissioning plans, and punch list items to support successful installations and startup.\n\n•        Support equipment installation, SAT, startup, and turnover into day to day operation.\n\n•        Identify and communicate facility, utility, maintenance, and technical support needs before equipment startup to reduce execution, risk and improve readiness.\n\n•        Develop and maintain strong technical understanding of assigned equipment, including operation, controls architecture, failure modes, utility requirements, and maintenance needs.\n\n•        Build and maintain structured equipment documentation in QuickBase, including manuals, startup and shutdown procedures, troubleshooting guides, spare parts lists, PM procedures, utility requirements, technical records, and revision history.\n\n•        Ensure equipment records are accurate, current, traceable, and organized to support troubleshooting, maintenance execution, training, and audit readiness.\n\n•        Establish and maintain documentation standards that capture equipment setup, operating expectations, maintenance requirements, known issues, and lessons learned across both new and existing equipment.\n\n•        Develop preventive maintenance procedures, schedules, frequencies, and equipment specific maintenance strategies that support reliability and maintainability.\n\n•        Support spare parts strategy development by identifying critical spares, wear items, recommended stocking levels, and replacement needs for assigned equipment.\n\n•        Act as a first line technical resource for equipment troubleshooting by working directly on equipment, partnering with internal equipment owners and engineers, coordinating with OEMs, and escalating issues as needed.\n\n•        Support root cause investigations for recurring or critical equipment failures and document findings, lessons learned, and recommended corrective actions.\n\n•        Make technical recommendations to improve reliability, maintainability, uptime, and troubleshooting effectiveness, and support implementation of approved changes in coordination with internal equipment owners and OEMs.\n\n•        Develop training materials, qualification content, and practical instruction for Facilities Technicians and other employees as needed to support safe and effective equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.\n\n•        Train and coach technicians on equipment function, PM execution, troubleshooting methods, common failure modes, and proper use of technical documentation.\n\n•        Work collaboratively with equipment owners, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Facilities, and EHS to support equipment readiness and long term equipment performance.\n\n•        Maintain close alignment with the Senior Manager on priorities, technical concerns, documentation expectations, and improvement opportunities.\n\n•        Provide after hours support as needed for equipment installation activities, startup, urgent troubleshooting, major downtime events, and meetings with overseas OEMs.\n\n•        Travel as needed for FATs, vendor visits, equipment acceptance activities, and other critical project support needs.\n\n Qualifications \n\n•        Strong technical understanding of manufacturing equipment in production, pilot line, or R&D environments.\n\n•        Strong troubleshooting capability across mechanical, electrical, controls, and process related equipment issues.\n\n•        Working knowledge of PLCs, HMls, sensors, motion systems, and industrial networking.\n\n•        Ability to understand complex equipment and translate technical details into clear documentation, maintenance requirements, and training content.\n\n•        Strong organizational discipline and attention to detail in documentation, revision control, and technical record keeping.\n\n•        Ability to work independently with limited support while staying aligned with leadership direction and equipment ownership boundaries.\n\n•        Effective communicator who can work with technicians, engineers, OEMs, and internal stakeholders.\n\n•        Practical mindset with the ability to identify issues, recommend improvements, and support implementation of approved solutions.\n\nAbility to balance project support, documentation, troubleshooting, and training responsibilities in a fast paced environment.\n\n Physical Demands & Work Location: \n\n·       Fremont, CA: This is an on site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.\n\n·       Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\n\n·       Regular work in manufacturing, lab, pilot line, and equipment installation environments.\n\n·       Must be able to move throughout the facility and access equipment in operational areas.\n\n·       May require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing ladders, and using hand tools during inspections, troubleshooting, and support activities.\n\n·       Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.\n\n·       Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, safety shoes, and other task specific protective equipment as required.\n\n·       May require evening, weekend, and after hours support for equipment installation, startup, urgent troubleshooting, or project work.\n\n·       May require travel for FATs, vendor visits, and equipment acceptance activities.\n\n·       May need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes when entering the lab\n\n Travel Requirements: up to 10%\n\n Requirements\n\n•        Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing, equipment engineering, automation, or a related technical environment.\n\n•        Minimum 3 to 4 years of relevant experience supporting manufacturing or R&D equipment, preferably in battery manufacturing or similar industries.\n\n•        Experience supporting equipment installation, startup, commissioning, SAT, or ramp activities.\n\n•        Hands on experience troubleshooting equipment in partnership with OEMs, internal engineers, or equipment owners.\n\n•        Experience developing preventive maintenance procedures, technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.\n\n•        Experience supporting equipment with controls and automation components, including PLCs, HMls, sensors, motion systems, and industrial communication networks.\n\n•        Battery manufacturing experience preferred, but experience in semiconductor, coating, vacuum, chemical process, roll to roll, or automated manufacturing environments is also acceptable.\n\n•        Experience using QuickBase or similar systems for documentation, maintenance records, or technical data management preferred.\n\n Benefits\n\n·       Comprehensive compensation package includes base salary + RSUs. Salary range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000.
