    "description": "<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position: Patient Support Program Nurse </span></span></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location: UAE </span></span></p>\n<p><span>  </span></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Purpose</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p>The <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Patient Support Nurse</span> provides comprehensive nursing care in the community setting that assists patients to achieve optimum health and quality of life in situations of chronic disease.  The Patient Support Nurse is responsible for the provision and management of effective nursing care to individuals and/or families in the community or in-Patient Support Programs, combing advanced clinical practice, patient education, and community engagement.. The Patient Support Nurse will play a key role in designing and implementing training, patient-centered initiatives, and quality improvement projects across multiple focus areas. The Nurse works in adherence to the Policies and Procedures set by Axios International and works in accordance with established standards of nursing practices according to local and international rules and regulations. </p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties and Responsibilities</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p>Based on the agreed-upon services and workflow, the Patient Support Nurse provides skilled nursing services in accordance with the orders of a physician and under a plan of care. Duties include but not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Place the patient at the center of every interaction — listen carefully, respect their preferences, involve them in decisions, and provide care with dignity and compassion.</li>\n<li><span>Deliver and coordinate patient and HCP education programs across various clinical specialties.</span></li>\n<li><span>Support the development of workshops, microlearning modules, and experiential learning activities.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist in designing and implementing care pathways that improve treatment adherence and patient outcomes.</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide input into the creation of evidence-based protocols and patient resources.</span></li>\n<li><span>Enhance patient communication strategies and promote culturally competent care.</span></li>\n<li><span>Facilitate training for staff on emotional intelligence, active listening, and shared decision-making.</span></li>\n<li><span>Participate in patient-experience improvement projects, including patient journey mapping and co-design activities.</span></li>\n<li><span>Support the development of nurse-led innovation and research projects.</span></li>\n<li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate healthcare projects.</li>\n<li>Coordinate with national and international nursing associations and professional bodies.</li>\n<li>Assist with continuing professional development (CPD) accreditation processes.</li>\n<li>Stay updated with global best practices and integrate them into local programs.</li>\n<li>Conduct initial home assessments, review medical history, evaluate the home environment, and develop individualized care plans.</li>\n<li>Perform regular telephonic or virtual follow-ups to monitor progress and adjust care plans as needed.</li>\n<li>Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, oxygen saturation) and blood glucose levels.</li>\n<li>Administer medications safely via multiple routes (oral, IV, IM, SC injections, infusions, inhalations, rectal) and monitor for side effects.</li>\n<li>Manage pain using validated scales and support both acute and chronic pain interventions.</li>\n<li>Provide wound care (assessment, dressing changes, infection prevention) and basic cardiac assessments.</li>\n<li>Operate and teach patients/families about home medical equipment (glucometers, oxygen therapy, infusion pumps).</li>\n<li>Educate and counsel patients and families on disease management, treatment adherence, and self-care strategies.</li>\n<li>Provide health education and emotional support to caregivers, including mental health/depression screenings and referrals when needed.</li>\n<li>Promote lifestyle modifications, safety measures, and infection control practices in the home.</li>\n<li>Act as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.</li>\n<li>Refer to community services and specialist care when appropriate.</li>\n<li>Document all care activities accurately and maintain confidentiality in compliance with regulations.</li>\n<li>Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and advocate for patients’ rights and needs.</li>\n<li><span>Attending and completing Pharmacovigilance, Pharma and Product Training provided by the Client with a clear understanding of how to collect and report safety data</span></li>\n<li><span>Reporting any adverse events/product complaints as per client’s requirements and/or Axios SOPPs</span></li>\n<li><span>Conduct all program activities through exclusive use of Axios’ Patient Management System (PMS)</span></li>\n<li><span>Additional duties as assigned</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Organizational Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Reflecting and interpreting the Axios Program Managers in managing the Patient Support Program(s) by liaising with hospitals, distributors, pharmacies, and patients</span></li>\n<li><span>Working closely with the Axios UAE staff to implement the required service(s) for the enrolled patients in the program(s)</span></li>\n<li><span>Carrying out home visits for patient care as required</span></li>\n<li><span>Conduct physical physician visits to provide patient updates and collect feedback</span></li>\n<li><span>Liaise with local labs and coordinate patients diagnostic testing requests and results </span></li>\n<li><span>Preparing timely monitoring reports (monthly) with patient numbers and logistics as well as quality assurance reports (quarterly) for internal review.
