Berkley Risk is focused on providing self-insured entities program administration services and insurance operations which can include taking or sharing risk using Berkley paper. This capability allows us to customize both an insurance company option and a purely administrative option for our customers. Responsibilities This position will be aligned to the Southwestern Minnesota Territory, stretching from the metro area to South Dakota just along Highway 12 and west of Highway 169 from the metro to the Iowa border. Provides loss control consultative services for the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust Members (LMCIT) in an assigned geographical work area. Provides consultative loss control service to clients that will assist in developing an effective loss control program. Analyzes losses, generates/submits comprehensive loss control recommendations to assist in correcting deficiencies and controlling losses and related costs. Ability to perform job hazard analysis, hazard/exposure recognition surveys and training for LMCIT members (train the trainer). Provides LMCIT members with resource materials, audiovisual materials and loss experience information. Prepares detailed, written, documentations/forms relate loss control information to others. Develops/maintains public speaking skills. Assists in the preparation/presentation of workshops/seminars and other training for clients/potential clients. Researches, develops and delivers presentations on loss prevention, risk management and occupational safety. Develops/maintains a working relationship with customers, agents and/or brokers. Maintains regular communication relative to loss control issues with appropriate company personnel. Stays abreast of current regulatory changes which could impact customer’s operations. Keeps informed of new techniques and equipment used in loss control. Able to travel, to include overnight and multiple night trips, to effectively manage workload in an assigned territory. Includes overnight travel to conferences when necessary. May perform other functions as assigned Qualifications Two years’ relevant experience. Must possess effective oral, written and consultative communications skills. Must possess/maintain valid basic motor vehicle driver's license in the state in which the individual is assigned. Desirable: attainment of any one or more of the following professional designations: Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM) Associate in Risk Management (ARM) (ARM-P) Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) Certified Loss Control Specialist (CLCS) Education Bachelor's Degree preferably in a safety and loss control, business, communications.
