Our products protect human life and personal property, improve the quality of life, generate economic prosperity, and connect society. This is an hourly position reporting directly to the Plant Supervisor. The primary responsibility of this position is to safely load material from stockpiles and maintain the plant/yard appropriately. Responsibilities Job Duties: Safely operate the site Loader in moving materials, and ensuring materials are properly stored. Ensure all irrigation systems are operable & appropriately hydrating the various aggregates. Ensure plant/yard housekeeping is appropriate to include shoveling, sweeping, and washing down the yard frequently. Ensure all appropriate EPA guidelines are followed and yard up to appropriate regulatory standards. Assist Plant Supervisor with monthly inventory. With direction from Plant Supervisor, coordinate the traffic flow of the yard. Ensure haulers are placing materials in appropriate areas. Ensure haulers are rendering tickets in the batch house. Assist maintenance team with plant repairs. Must be able to travel within delivery area to other plant locations. Ensure plant bins are fully loaded with appropriate materials during batching hours of operation. Properly maintain the loader, i.e., grease all fittings, keep fuel level full, perform daily mechanical inspections, report issues. Ability to perform other duties as required. Qualifications Required Skills. Valid CDL license Good written and oral communication skills Construction industry experience required. Ability to work night shifts, overtime, and weekends. Basic understanding of windows-based operations / computer skills. Must have demonstrated the ability to perform with minimal supervision. Basic understanding of concrete characteristics and production. Must have demonstrated safe operation of Mixer Truck and Loader. Knowledge of proper material handling practices. Previous experience in ready-mix industry is preferred. Must have demonstrated the ability to be coachable by Plant Supervisor and Area Supervisor. Must have ability to further progress to Batch Operator. Must be physically capable of performing strenuous manual labor including: bending, lifting, climbing at heights of 60-80 feet, walking on catwalks, stretching, driving/steering, sitting, twisting, vibration, and riding & walking on rough terrain. Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Must be English proficient, both oral and written. Next level skills: The loader position should be a back-up to the plant Batch Operator. Various skills must be obtained based upon list below: Begin Batch Operator training – within 6 months Full Batch Operator skills attained within 1st year. FDOT certification – within 1st year Demonstrate general mechanical aptitude for workings of the plant – within 1st year.
