    "description": "<h2>POSITION SUMMARY</h2>\n<p>Pay Range: $49.80hr. to $73.22/hr.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Works under the direction of a board-certified radiologist and is directly responsible for the optimal completion of all procedures utilizing the magnetic resonance imaging scanner.  May be assigned to a variety of hospital or clinic locations depending on the needs of the department.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<p>Performed majority of the time:</p>\n<p>·       Actively maintains a safe environment for all within each of the MRI Safety Zones. </p>\n<p>·       Obtains and maintains proficiency in IV starts for contrast administration.</p>\n<p>·       Begins and ends exams and documents appropriately in EMR.                 </p>\n<p>·       Assists in providing care for moderate and deep sedation patients.</p>\n<p>·       Mandatory participation in standby rotation as required or assigned by lead technologist.</p>\n<p>·       Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients based on principles of growth and development and life stages.</p>\n<p>·       Maintains a log of all patients, procedures, complications, and system problems.</p>\n<p>·       Describes and applies the physics behind the MRI system.</p>\n<p>·       Performs quality control functions in MRI in accordance with department quality control process.</p>\n<p>·       Assists physicians as necessary.</p>\n<p>·       Assists in patient scheduling.</p>\n<p>·       Transports patients as necessary.</p>\n<p>Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job:</p>\n<p>·       Participates in scheduled staff/department meetings.</p>\n<p>·       Mentors Medical Imaging students during rotations and clinicals.</p>\n<h2>JOB SPECIFICATIONS</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Education:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·       Highest science-related academic diploma or transcript.</p>\n<p>Preferred</p>\n<p>·       N/A</p>\n<p><strong><u>Experience:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·       N/A</p>\n<p>Preferred </p>\n<p>·       Previous MRI experience.</p>\n<p><strong><u>Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·       Registry with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists or other approved credentialing organization, such as ARMRIT, within 6 months of hire.</p>\n<p>·       Current OBMI MRI License or OBMI Temporary Post-Primary MRI License.</p>\n<p>·       Current Healthcare Provider BLS required upon hire.</p>\n<p>o   American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred upon hire or required within 90 days of hire.  </p>\n<p>Preferred </p>\n<p>·       N/A</p>\n<p><strong><u>Job Related Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·       Working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.</p>\n<p>·       Working knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.</p>\n<p>·       Working knowledge of radiology information system.</p>\n<p>·       Working knowledge of PACS.</p>\n<p>·       Excellent customer service skills.</p>\n<p>·       Must have demonstrated skills in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.</p>\n<p>·       Uses effective communication skills.</p>\n<p>·       Personal appearance makes a good first impression.</p>\n<p>·       Correctly and accurately operates magnetic field equipment under the direct supervision of a physician.</p>\n<p>·       Uses departmental equipment as listed below safely according to manufacturer’s recommendations and departmental/organizational procedures.</p>\n<p>·       Follows policies for infection control; disposal of hazardous waste and sharps; use of personal protective equipment.</p>\n<p>·       Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary should an emergency arise during moderate sedation and are able to recognize signs and symptoms.</p>\n<p>·       Demonstrates confidentiality according to PHI regarding patient and co-worker information.</p>\n<p>·       Demonstrates the ability to change a protocol as needed without compromising image quality.</p>\n<p>·       Cares for patient in a safe and compassionate manner while in the MRI suite.</p>\n<p>·       Works and communicates in a positive and cooperative manner with management, supervisors, medical staff, co-workers, other healthcare workers, patients, and their families.  </p>\n<p>Preferred</p>\n<p>·       Bilingual skills a plus.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Additional Posting Information</h2>Hillsboro Medical Center believes in providing equal employment opportunities for all qualified individuals.
