    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>This position is a 1.0 FTE located within the Office of Special Education.</p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>\n Conduct observations of students for development of behavior management and behavior modification plans.<br>\n Develop and implement individual and group behavior management plans for students in grades pre-K through 12<br>\n Model strategies and behavior systems for classroom teachers.<br>\n Provide in-service training for teachers and staff in working with children and adolescents on behavior management.<br>\n Consult with teachers, staff and families to develop behavior intervention plans.<br>\n Facilitate development of functional behavior analysis and resulting behavior plan.<br>\n Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of crisis management plans.<br>\n Participate as a member of a team with school-based and central office-based colleagues.<br>\n EXPERIENCE:<br>\n The person in this position reports to the Director of Special Education. The Behavior<br>\n Specialist will work closely with school based staff, special education coordinators and student services personnel<br>\n in the planning and delivery of programs and services for children with and without disabilities. The responsibilities<br>\n will include working the special education and general education settings.<br>\n Demonstrated success in development, implementation and evaluation of individual and group behavior<br>\n management and modification plans.<br>\n Experience as a team member in development, implementation and evaluation of behavior management plans.<br>\n Experience working with children with various disabilities and mental health needs (such as autism, ADHD, and<br>\n anxiety, etc.) in k-12 school settings.<br>\n Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.<br>\n QUALIFICATIONS:<br>\n Master’s degree in Special Education or Psychology.<br>\n Eligibility for a Postgraduate Certificate, with endorsement in one or more disability areas covered under the<br>\n Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act, 2004 or in related field.<br>\n Training in crisis prevention and intervention techniques.<br>\n Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis.<br>\n Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Practices.<br>\n Valid Special Education licensure and/or certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)<br>\n Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is<br>\n preferred but not required.<br>\n &nbsp;</p>\n<p>SALARY: Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule</p>\n<p>Arlington Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer<br>\n It is the policy of the Arlington School Board, as stated in Policy G-2.30, Employee Relations – Equal Employment<br>\n Opportunity - that “Employment opportunities shall not be restricted, abridged or otherwise adversely affected on the basis<br>\n of race, national origin, creed, color, religion, gender, age, economic status, sexual orientation, national origin, marital<br>\n status, genetic information, gender identity or expression, and/or disability</p>",
