As we expand across Western Canada, we are seeking senior-level field professionals to lead complex commissioning projects in British Columbia.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p>\n<p>We are seeking a Senior Protection & Control Field Specialist (Technologist or Engineer) to lead field execution and provide technical expertise on critical power system projects.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a hands-on leadership role focused on commissioning, testing, and client delivery not design.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of: \n  <ul>\n   <li>Protective relays, DFRs, RTUs, PLC systems, and telecom equipment</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Perform advanced testing for:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Transmission systems, buses, transformers, and generation assets</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Configure and commission advanced relay systems, including: \n  <ul>\n   <li>SEL (311C, 311L, 387, 411L, 421, 487, 587, 787)</li>\n   <li>GE relays (C30, D60, L90, T60, etc.)</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Oversee SCADA/RTU integration and upgrades</li>\n <li>Interpret and validate protection schemes and settings</li>\n <li>Lead field teams and mentor junior/intermediate staff</li>\n <li>Interface directly with clients and provide technical guidance</li>\n <li>Troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions</li>\n <li>Ensure accurate reporting and project documentation</li>\n <li>Champion a strong safety culture</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>7–15 years of progressive field experience in protection & controls   </li>\n <li>Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field</li>\n <li>Registration or eligibility with ASTTBC or EGBC</li>\n <li>NETA Certification (Level I–IV) preferred</li>\n <li>Advanced experience with: \n  <ul>\n   <li>SEL relay families</li>\n   <li>GE relays (strong asset)</li>\n   <li>RTU and communication systems (GE, SEL, Novatech, etc.)</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Proven leadership and client-facing experience</li>\n <li>Excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel</li>\n <li>Legally authorized to work in Canada</li>\n</ul>\n<p>What You’ll Lead</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Complex commissioning projects</li>\n <li>Field team development and mentorship</li>\n <li>Delivery of high-quality, safety-driven work</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Why Join Shermco Industries </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work on critical infrastructure projects across BC</li>\n <li>Ongoing training and manufacturer certifications</li>\n <li>Strong safety-first culture</li>\n <li>Supportive, highly skilled team environment</li>\n <li>Long-term career growth opportunities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Range</h2>CAD $80.00 - CAD $95.00 /Hr.",
