Description

A Pipefitter I will assemble, layout, install and maintain pipe systems. The Pipe systems may include but not limited to pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles. Pipe Fitters may work in all parts of the construction or maintenance site, including in buildings, outside, and inside structures. The work may also include working in underground (excavations) areas and working at heights. Read and interpret blueprints Apply mathematics to solve problems Fabricating and installing gaskets and pipe fit Performing cutting/threading operations using a machine Using measuring tools and portable power tools Make decisions based on measurable criteria Testing pipe and tube installations Secure pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools Fabricating and installing pipe systems, hangers, supports, valves and components Assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation Rigging material and equipment Fabricating pipe systems and piping spools Perform clean up duties and spotting on all activities Elevated work under 6ft or 6ft and higher Use hand tools and power tools Cutting pipe with bandsaw, cutting disc and cutting material with oxygen/acetylene torch and plasma cutter Running a beveling machine and ability to bevel pipe Bolt up equipment and flangers Thread pipe Layout piping systems Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic tests Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards A Pipefitter I will assemble, layout, install and maintain pipe systems.
