    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Description:</strong></p><p>Are you a Safety and Health (S&amp;H) professional looking to grow a career with a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company? We have an opportunity for you!</p><p>Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a S&amp;H Superintendent to join the team at our Carlin Mine site. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, under supervision, to develop, implement and monitor safety and health programs for near-mine or in-mine facilities in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.&nbsp;Performs activities essential to ensuring employees can do their work safety to prevent injuries or health impairment.&nbsp; Advocates for safety and health compliance, providing training, compliance monitoring, auditing, and reporting.&nbsp;Performs more routine tasks or work on a minor phase, with oversite, of a larger project.&nbsp;</p><p>At Nevada Gold Mines, our vision is to be the world’s most valued gold mining business by finding, developing, and operating the best assets with the best people. We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Direct assigned area activities including planning, scheduling, budgeting, projects, cost containment and profitability within a three-month window.&nbsp;Ensure timely delivery of results against plans.​</li><li>Ensure all operations are carried out safely, consistently, efficiently and in accordance with environmental and other regulations and NGM standards,&nbsp;policies, and procedures.&nbsp;​</li><li>Drive consistency&nbsp;across supervisors&nbsp;with responses to significant events, incident reporting, investigating and awareness across&nbsp;my supervisors&nbsp;and&nbsp;implementing preventative and corrective actions consistently across the teams. Ensure compliance with regulations and legal obligations.​</li><li>Engage team members in effective problem-solving including go look, see and listen.&nbsp; Identify opportunities for improvement, develop&nbsp;recommendations for changes to practices, techniques and standards to leadership.​</li><li>Ensure appropriate staffing is in place, supporting recruiting and hiring.​</li><li>Support investigations, makes corrective action and termination decisions and may assist&nbsp;shift supervisors&nbsp;with issuing discipline to team members.​</li><li>Complete handovers with my incoming and outgoing peers to support continuity of operations and safety. Drive consistency of standards across&nbsp;shift&nbsp;supervisors&nbsp;and teams.​</li><li>Implement systems to maximize efficiency and resources.​</li><li>Observe Safety Interactions done by&nbsp;my supervisors&nbsp;and give them feedback on how to improve.​</li><li>Give feedback to, coach, and mentor&nbsp;shift supervisors.​</li><li>Lead effective meetings for my team.&nbsp;​</li><li>Review the performance of my team members and provide feedback.</li><li>Conduct Drug and Alcohol Testing.</li><li>On-call responsibilities are required.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>6+ year' experience in mining or related industry with&nbsp;proven/demonstrated Leadership in Safety or​ Minimum 6+ years’ experience in Safety and Health&nbsp;</li><li>2 + Divisional Areas (minimum 1 year each)&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum of an Associate Degree in a science-based&nbsp;curriculum&nbsp;​</li><li>OR a&nbsp;Bachelor's&nbsp;Degree in a non-scientific field&nbsp;​</li><li>OR significant IH/Safety experience&nbsp;</li><li>Advanced knowledge with MSHA health and safety regulations and standards&nbsp;</li><li>Multiple divisions required with a minimum of 1 year experience preferred&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated ability to evaluate health and safety related risks</li><li>Ability to train and coach others on issues relating to health and safety</li><li>Practical application of Microsoft Office Suite of software&nbsp;</li><li>Blue Card Holder&nbsp;</li><li>Advanced understanding in Occupational Health</li><li>Advanced Incident Investigation experience and certification</li><li>Computer literacy (Adobe Acrobat, Web-based Data Systems)</li><li>Demonstrated time management skills&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to organize, prioritize, plan, and multi-task</li><li>Ability to develop and implement OHS programs and systems</li><li>Advanced understanding of mining and associated processes</li><li>Interpersonal, presentation, and training skills</li><li>Collaboration and influencing skills</li><li>Advanced first aid and emergency response knowledge</li><li>Proven ability to lead teams</li><li>Advanced understanding of safety systems</li><li>Knowledge and application of leadership skills, incident investigation and risk assessment/management</li><li>Advanced knowledge of State &amp; Federal regulations</li><li>Good decision-making skills</li></ul><p><strong>What We Can Offer You</strong></p><ul><li>A comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!</li><li>Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team</li><li>Opportunities to grow and learn with the industry colleagues are endless</li><li>Access to a variety of career opportunities across Nevada Gold Mine locations</li><li>Nevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer</li></ul>",
