Location: Raleigh, NC
The Autism Society of North Carolina is hiring a full-time Assistant Program Director to lead and grow our IGNITE programs for autistic young adults. If you're driven to help others thrive and want to be part of a supportive, mission-focused team—this is the role for you!
What You’ll Do:
Lead program operations by planning, organizing, and overseeing engaging workshops, activities, and services that support autistic individuals and their families.
Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, grantors, community partners, members, and families while serving as a key representative of the program.
Expand community-based opportunities by developing recreation, volunteer, leisure, and engagement experiences that keep programming innovative and impactful.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and support program staff and volunteers while fostering accountability, collaboration, and high-quality service delivery.
Ensure smooth day-to-day operations by managing records, budgets, billing, payroll coordination, compliance, and business processes with accuracy and care.
Promote program growth by recruiting new members, maintaining strong funder stewardship, and helping ensure services meet health, safety, and regulatory standards.
What We’re Looking For :
Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in a related Human Services field such Special Education, Recreation Therapy, etc
3-5 years' experience working with young adults on the autism spectrum - Level 1
Experience managing budgets and supervising staff is a desired but not required
Ability to work one-two nights a week to 7pm and occasional weekends.
Must have a valid driver’s license
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment
