Counselors are responsible for supervising and leading groups of children through an exciting and varied curriculum of games and activities.</p>\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Schools:</strong> Edgewood, Hall-Kent, Homewood Middle and Shades Cahaba</p>\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"> </p>\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>\n\n<ol>\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\n\t<p dir=\"ltr\">Engages and supervises a group of children. Program hours are Monday - Friday from school dismissal (varies per site) to 6:00 pm.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\n\t<p dir=\"ltr\">Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with YMCA core curriculum components.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\n\t<p dir=\"ltr\">Adheres to program standards, including safety and cleanliness standards.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\n\t<p dir=\"ltr\">Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li dir=\"ltr\">\n\t<p dir=\"ltr\">Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff.
