As a Health & Safety Specialist, you will support field operations by inspecting, evaluating, and reinforcing safe work practices to ensure compliance with company safety programs, EM 385-1-1 requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role will be supporting the high-profile Howard Hanson Dam project and will transition to night shift schedule over time.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You will collaborate with industry experts and committed teams who value individuality and recognize achievements.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Apply now and transform your career with us. </p>\n<h2>What you will be doing</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Support implementation of FD’s safety strategy at the project level, ensuring alignment with company procedures, EM 385-1-1, and regulatory requirements.</li>\n <li>Assist in the development and execution of project-specific safety plans, helping identify and mitigate potential risks.</li>\n <li>Conduct daily site walks to identify, document, and help resolve safety hazards and non-compliant conditions.</li>\n <li>Develop and document Daily Risk Assessments (DRA) in accordance with company procedures and project requirements.</li>\n <li>Participate in daily coordination meetings and pre-task planning discussions to support safe execution of work activities.</li>\n <li>Evaluate safety equipment needs and coordinate with project teams to ensure materials are available for upcoming work.</li>\n <li>Assist with incident investigations, including gathering information, documenting findings, and supporting corrective actions.</li>\n <li>Provide first aid and emergency response support as needed and ensure proper documentation and follow-up care.</li>\n <li>Support subcontractor safety oversight by identifying non-compliance and assisting with corrective actions.</li>\n <li>Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings at prescribed intervals to reinforce hazard awareness and safe work practices.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate safety documentation, including inspections, observations, and incident records, in company systems (e.g., Origami).</li>\n <li>Track safety observations and support trend analysis to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What we are looking for</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred.</li>\n <li>Minimum 3+ years of construction or safety experience required.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual.</li>\n <li>OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.</li>\n <li>EM 385-1-1 40-Hour Certification (or ability to obtain) required.</li>\n <li>CPR/First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain).</li>\n <li>Ability to identify jobsite hazards and recommend effective mitigation strategies.</li>\n <li>Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced construction environment.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned tasks, and follow through with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>General knowledge of construction equipment, methods, and processes.</li>\n <li>Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to recognize, evaluate, and control hazards using established safety practices.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Why work for us</h2>\n<p>Some of the benefits you may be eligible for as an employee are:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Comprehensive compensation package and paid time off program</li>\n <li>Industry leading 401(k)/RRSP</li>\n <li>Medical/Extended Health Care, Dental, Vision and/or Provincial Medical</li>\n <li>Wellness benefits & Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Tuition Reimbursement Program</li>\n</ul>\n<p>We are an EEO/ADA/Veterans employer.</p>\n<h2>Salary Min</h2>USD $90,000.00/Yr.\n<h2>Salary Max</h2>USD $120,000.00/Yr.",
