Description
The Coordinator of Korean Initiatives supports student success and program operations for Korean-language programs by providing student support, course coordination, and administrative assistance throughout the student academic journey from enrollment to graduation. This role involves facilitating communication with students, online instructors and faculty, coordinating online course logistics and program-related operations, and assisting with student engagement initiatives and events to help foster a positive and effective learning experience. The position operates under the supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Global Ministries - Korean Initiatives and in close collaboration with other staff members of the Global Ministries - Korean Initiatives department.
Duties and responsibilities
Student Support & Communication
Provide student support services through email, phone calls, and one-on-one Zoom meetings as needed. Communicate with prospective and current students in the Korean-language programs regarding enrollment, course registration, academic schedules, and general program guidance. Assist students in navigating academic processes, institutional policies, and online learning platforms in consultation with supervisors, faculty, and relevant departments as needed. Support student engagement and success by helping students stay informed, connected, and supported throughout the academic year.
Course & Program Coordination
Coordinate communication and collaboration with online instructors regarding student support needs, course-related matters, and program operations. Assist with setting up and maintaining Canvas course pages, preparing announcements, and supporting online course logistics. Support course scheduling, academic planning, and student-related administrative processes for Korean academic programs.
Student Engagement & Events
Assist with graduation-related communication, events, and student participation needs. Help organize student engagement initiatives, program events, and online community-building opportunities.
Documentation & Team Collaboration
Maintain organized student records, tracking files, and internal documentation across team platforms. Work closely with members of the Global Ministries – Korean Initiatives (GM-KI) team to support Korean programs and related projects. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
