With successful completion of the Trainee program, the candidate will have gained experience and knowledge to pursue a full-time career as an Assistant Team Leader in the Bridge and Sign Structure Inspection field.</p><p><br></p><p>This program is supported by NY State Department of Transportation with the purpose of providing viable career opportunities for minorities and women for employment in the engineering consultant industry. All encouraged to apply.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Assist team members in the completion of structural inspections throughout the region.</li><li>Will work under the guidance and supervision of an experience Team Leader</li><li>This position is a hybrid of field and office time to be made up of instructional and/or self-study, field exercises, hands-on and one-one training.</li></ul><p><strong>Office responsibilities can include, but not be limited to:</strong></p><ul><li>Monitoring and reviewing recorded inventory, inspection, and analysis data</li><li>Mobilization and demobilization activities</li><li>Document and folder preparation</li><li>Project scheduling</li><li>Monitoring and reviewing \"flagged\" bridge data</li></ul><p><strong>Field contributions can include, but are by no means limited to the following:</strong></p><ul><li>Providing additional assistance to a Team Leader and their assistant</li><li>Additional inspection effort required on large or unusual structures</li><li>Providing additional assistance during team reviews by the Quality Control Engineer</li><li>Providing additional assistance in the field review of bridge flags and reports by the Quality Control Engineer</li></ul><p><strong>Timeframe:</strong></p><p>It is expected that the Trainee will complete their training in 20 months throughout the duration of the project/contract.&nbsp;</p><p>PDG will provide a relocation assistance package to assist with the move to the Rochester, NY area.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Education/Experience:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>AAS degree </strong><em><strong>only </strong></em><strong>i</strong>n Civil Engineering Technology or closely related field; or 18 months of verifiable bridge experience in the areas of design, construction, inspection, or other bridge related work.
