Are you committed to delivering an excellent experience for guests? As the <strong>Spirits & Wine Specialist</strong>, you will serve as an in-store expert in the selection, tasting, and pairing of spirits and wines, providing a world-class guest experience by delivering personalized recommendations and fostering a passion for spirits and wine education. This role ensures the Spirits & Wines department is positioned as a destination for wine enthusiasts and casual shoppers alike. The Spirits & Wine Specialist will also assist with merchandising, inventory management, and events to enhance our store’s unique focus on special occasions, dinners, and holidays. You will support spirits and wine inventory accuracy, ensure rotation standards and presentation, while supporting guest engagement and department readiness for promotions and seasonal events. By combining attention to detail with strong organizational skills, you will inspire guest confidence, uphold compliance, and help drive sales success.  </p>\n<h2>What You'll Do:</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>This role embodies passion, excellence, hospitality, and teamwork, delivering an exceptional guest experience while maintaining operational integrity. </li>\n <li>Execute planograms and maintain accurate product placement and signage. </li>\n <li>Assist guests with event planning and wine selections tailored to their specific needs, especially for holidays, special occasions, and meal pairings.</li>\n <li>Engage guests with a friendly, helpful approach when on the sales floor. </li>\n <li>Manage the wine department’s merchandising, ensuring an organized and attractive presentation of products that align with seasonal trends, special occasions, and guest preferences.</li>\n <li>Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness, ensuring proper receiving and storage procedures. </li>\n <li>Reduce shrink through proactive rotation and damage control practices. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Availability:</h2>\n<p>This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.  </p>\n<h2>Qualifications:</h2>\n<p><strong>At a minimum, what you’ll need:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>1+ years of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations. </li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail with organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work at a fast pace. </li>\n <li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li>\n <li>Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience. </li>\n <li>Knowledge of wine, spirits, wine and spirits production, and understanding of the wine and spirits industry. </li>\n <li>Wine and Spirits certification (e.g. WSET, Sommelier Certification, CSS - Certified Specialist of Spirits). </li>\n <li>Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical and Work Conditions:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, and exposure to extreme temperatures.</li>\n <li>Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.</li>\n <li>Required to spend long periods of time on their feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law).</li>\n <li>Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li> </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer:</h2>\n<p><em>The Fresh Market is a proud, equal-opportunity employer that is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.</em>  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Reasonable Accommodation: Consistent with applicable laws, The Fresh Market will provide reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants and team members, unless doing so would result in an undue hardship to The Fresh Market.
