    "description": "<h2>Position Scope</h2>\n<p><strong>Position Scope</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>NACG are seeking an experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (Off-Road) to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For this role, NACG offers a combined gross rate of up to <strong>$69.46/hour</strong> as well as room for growth! </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Where You’ll Be Working</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Site: Ruth Lake</li>\n <li>Schedule: 14 x 14, 12 hour days (paid for 12 hours). Successful candidates will become a part of that union.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>**Note:</strong> Successful candidates must bring own tools</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong><u>What You’ll Be Doing</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Complete repairs on CAT/Komatsu/Hitachi equipment of all sizes.</li>\n <li>Work closely with peers in both maintenance and operations.</li>\n <li>Preventative Maintenance and servicing of all equipment.</li>\n <li>Evaluate equipment performance and inspect to detect faults and malfunctions.</li>\n <li>Trouble shooting systems – example: hydraulic, electrical & mechanical of all equipment and determine faults and extent of repair.</li>\n <li>Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specifications.</li>\n <li>Mobilization of equipment for maintenance and repair.</li>\n <li>Develop work scopes and schedules for equipment to be repaired.</li>\n <li>Order required repair parts, complete reports and fill out work orders.</li>\n <li>Teach and evaluate apprentices and mentor Mechanics.</li>\n <li>Follow NACG codes of practice and Safe Operating Procedures.</li>\n <li>Other maintenance duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Specific Requirements:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 2 years’ experience post Journeyman certification on large Haul Trucks/Dozers/Graders and Excavators.</li>\n <li>Possess excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities.</li>\n <li>Capable of working with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>Exhibit professional work behaviors.</li>\n <li>Committed to continuous learning.</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of computer applications.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate leadership skills in daily work interaction</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>What Makes You The ONE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 2 years’ experience post Journeyman (Journeyperson) certification on large Haul Trucks/Dozers/Graders and Excavators.</li>\n <li>Possess excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities.</li>\n <li>Capable of working with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>Exhibit professional work behaviors.</li>\n <li>Committed to continuous learning.</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of computer applications.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate leadership skills in daily work interaction</li>\n <li>A valid Alberta Journeyman (Journeyperson) Equipment Technician (Off Road) Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman (Journeyperson) Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician (Off Road).</li>\n <li>Experience with Cat SIS is an asset.</li>\n <li>Previous experience on a Safety Sensitive work site an asset</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Summary</h2>\n<p><strong>What's Next</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for a site-based role, you will be asked to provide the following:</p>\n<li>Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract</li>\n<li>Valid CSO or BSO , OHS Alberta Legislation, Silica Awarenees, Field Ergonomics, Wood Buffalo Wildlife, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness.
