By joining BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions, you become part of a forward-thinking company that values sustainability, continuous improvement, and a positive work culture.</p>\n<p>Help us shape a cleaner, greener future through innovation, collaboration, and excellence.</p>\n<p><strong><u>Job Summary</u></strong>: As a member of the BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions Team, you will be generally responsible for cleaning in a designated zone with an emphasis on quality control, health and safety &amp; striving to exceed client expectations.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities:&nbsp;</u></strong>Functioning as a core member of the operational team and reporting to the Manager/ Supervisor as a Cleaner you may be required to perform <u>some</u> of the following tasks as required by the Manager/Supervisor and needs of the client:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming</li>\n <li>Dry/wet mop (wash/scrub) and polish hard surface floors. (The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with handheld or auto scrubbers. In large open applications, automatic equipment may be used to perform these functions)&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strip and finish hard surface floors manually or with power equipment when required&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Dry/wet mop (wash/scrub) and polish hard surface floors including washroom floors. (The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with handheld or walk behind buffing machines. In large open applications, automatic equipment may be used to perform these functions)&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Transport maintenance machinery, where necessary, between floors and job sites&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Cleans and stores equipment and machinery used</li>\n <li>Cleans glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding or other extension equipment to reach.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Cleans washroom floors including stripping and finishing&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Cleans stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Loads and unloads supplies and replenishes cleaning solutions</li>\n <li>Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures</li>\n <li>Other duties that management may assign&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors</li>\n <li>Strip and finish hard surface floors manually or with power equipment when required&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Steam clean or shampoo carpets&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems</li>\n <li>Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications</li>\n <li>Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors</li>\n <li>Steam clean or shampoo carpets</li>\n <li>Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow melting chemicals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Job Requirements:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in performing various cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment.</li>\n <li>Experience in using floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, materials and solutions.</li>\n <li>&nbsp;Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work including WHMIS.</li>\n <li>Ability to lift, push and pull heavy items as well as climb ladders.</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients and the general public.</li>\n <li>Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays and shifts as assigned as well as work in multiple locations.</li>\n <li>Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prepare and maintain manual and electronic records.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must meet security clearance requirements, where applicable</li>\n <li>Must have a valid Class G license (may be required)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Physical demands:</u></strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
