This is not a role where you maintain what’s already perfect – you’ll be joining at a point where the opportunity to build, improve, grow, and shape how finance operates is real and your impact is immediate. </p>\n<p>You’ll be the engine behind the general ledger accounting, treasury support, month-end close and financial reporting across our MGA and brokerage operations, both of which have distinct accounting needs. You’ll partner closely with the Corporate Controller and cross-functional teams to drive accuracy, strengthen controls, and help us scale our processes as we grow.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The ideal candidate brings solid accounting fundamentals, an interest in or experience with insurance-specific accounting (especially MGA or brokerage flows), and – critically – the mindset of someone who loves to improve how things work and make an impact. The Senior Accountant I has a compensation range of $90,000 - $105,000, depending on skills and experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Players Health is a remote-first organization. This role has a preference for candidates located in the Minneapolis, MN area, as some in-person collaboration will be expected. Periodic travel may also be required for team events and development.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>You will join an organization going through significant growth as well as digital transformation. Month-End Close </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage general ledger accounting activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries (accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, equity, and other standard entries)  </li>\n<li>Support and execute month-end and year-end close processes, including owning assigned workstreams including preparation and review of financial statements across MGA and brokerage entities </li>\n<li>Ensure proper allocation of expenses across departments and business segments to support accurate financial reporting and performance analysis  </li>\n<li>Maintain and track fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals  </li>\n<li>Prepare and manage prepaid expense schedules and related amortization  </li>\n<li>Assist with equity accounting and related reporting as applicable  </li>\n</ul>\n<p> <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Balance Sheet, Reconciliations &amp; Treasury </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Own the preparation, review, and ongoing improvement of balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of reconciling items  </li>\n<li>Establish and standardize reconciliation processes, including documentation, support requirements, and review procedures  </li>\n<li>Identify gaps in existing reconciliations and implement best practices to strengthen the control environment  </li>\n<li>Lead clean-up of legacy accounts, documentation of procedures (SOPs), and implementation of standardized  </li>\n<li>Support treasury operations, including cash management, bank activity monitoring, and coordination of payables  </li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reporting, Compliance &amp; Audit </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support financial reporting processes, including variance analysis and management reporting  </li>\n<li>Assist with tax compliance activities, including gathering data for filings and supporting external tax advisors  </li>\n<li>Maintain documentation and audit trails to support internal controls and external audit requirements  </li>\n<li>Support external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to auditor requests  </li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Process Improvement &amp; Systems </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the design and implementation of accounting processes within NetSuite, including GL structure, workflows, and reporting  </li>\n<li>Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased efficiency across accounting operations – and take initiative to implement them </li>\n<li>Partner with Accounts Payable and other teams to ensure proper coding and recording of transactions  </li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned  </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Minimum Skills &amp; Qualifications </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field  </li>\n<li>3+ years of general accounting or GL experience  </li>\n<li>Strong understanding of accrual accounting and financial reporting principles  </li>\n<li>Solid understanding of balance sheet integrity and internal controls </li>\n<li>Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations  </li>\n<li>Proven experience preparing and improving balance sheet reconciliations  </li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to identify operational gaps and drive process improvement, not just maintain the status quo </li>\n<li>Highly effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills  </li>\n<li>Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems </li>\n<li>High attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement, accuracy and deadlines  </li>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights </li>\n<li>High integrity and sound professional judgment with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters professionally </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Desired Qualifications &amp; Characteristics </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Insurance &amp; MGA Experience </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience within an MGA, insurance brokerage, carrier, or insurtech environment  </li>\n<li>Familiarity with insurance-specific accounting: premium flows, commission structures, bordereaux reporting, and/or carrier settlements  </li>\n<li>Understanding of the operational differences between an MGA and a brokerage, and how that impact financial reporting </li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Builder &amp; Scaling Mindset </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in a startup, high-growth, or scaling company where processes were still being built and you helped build them </li>\n<li>Comfort working in ambiguity – you don’t need a perfect playbook to get started;
