NPH is the national leader in providing medical and neurobehavioral care to patients in acute psychiatric distress. You will be joining a team of rock star staff who provide exceptional, patient-centered care and understand our patients are always our number one priority! The Patient Rights Advisor will support patient rights efforts through educating patients and families, guiding complaint/grievance processes and reporting unresolved threats to patient safety to appropriate staff. Ensures that the rights of patients receiving mental health services are upheld. Conducts investigations, resolves disputes, and provides education and training to staff as necessary. Maintain the complaint and grievance logs up to date. Collaborate with risk department and department managers to ensure patient concerns are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner. May participate in new hire orientation on educating staff on patient safety and advocacy Identify critical needs with regard to customer service and discuss with supervisor and medical staff. Assist with coordinating and training activities for facility staff to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, as needed per the Office of Recipient Rights. Initiating investigations when appropriate per grievance or policy. Gathering information, reviewing camera footage, and asking specific questions of employees/patients. Carrying out appropriate patient requests. Documenting information and answers to questions for patients, families, and caregivers. Solves conflicts and crisis situations with health care professionals and family members. Ensures patients' rights are met. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a clinical healthcare field (such as nursing, counseling, or behavioral health) preferred. Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience required. 1 year of experience in behavioral health preferred. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
