Employees of FRPD are expected to represent the company internally and externally in a professional manner that enhances the reputation of the company and reinforces its values.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Estimator will work along side our onsite operations team, the successful candidate will demonstrate a strategic and considerate approach to developing proposed solutions and pricing for our industrial market clients.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare price estimates and budgets, identifying inherent risk and opportunities</li>\n<li>Conduct thorough reviews of the tender documents and analyze subcontractor requirements</li>\n<li>Work with clients or consultants regarding items that require clarification or elaboration while maintaining competitive approach to developing proposed services and solutions</li>\n<li>Solicit, analyze and compile pricing from subcontractors</li>\n<li>Develop preliminary project construction schedules and plans as a basis for pricing with input from subcontractors and Bird personnel</li>\n<li>Conduct specification checks and participate in detailed estimate reviews</li>\n<li>Collaborate with supervisory and production staff to develop and document approach to priced proposal, including construction and project execution plans</li>\n<li>Lead pricing activities and submissions for assigned tenders or budgets</li>\n<li>Respond to post tender clarifications and participate in negotiations between submission and contract award</li>\n<li>Transfer knowledge acquired during the tender process to the project team during project kick-off meeting</li>\n<li>Support business development and other securement efforts on an ongoing basis</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Education and Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Engineering background or relevant technical education. </span></li>\n<li><span>5-10 years of experience in an dedicated construction estimating role.</span></li>\n<li><span>Previous onsite construction experience in a marine/foundations scope considered an asset.</span></li>\n<li><span>Previous experience building estimates in HeavyBID considered an asset.</span></li>\n<li><span>Proven track record of estimating skills, and experience applying estimating techniques throughout the pursuit process to define costs and determine competitive pricing</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans and specifications with meticulous attention to detail</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to interpret and analyse contract documents to make recommendations for best approach to forming a mutually agreeable contract with a diverse set of clients</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities</span></li>\n<li>Ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li>\n</ul>",
