As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We currently have an exciting opportunity for a<strong> Dietary Aide </strong>to join our Food Services team in our newly designed Alternative Level of Care (ALC) facility.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our Food Service department plays a pivotal role in creating a fresh and tasty restaurant-style menu. Patients at Toronto's Humber River Health are enjoying more diverse food choices as a result. <strong>Join our Food Service team as we work together to create a healthy safe environment, with a focus on the patients well-being and nutritional needs.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Employment Status:</strong> Part-time <strong></strong><strong>Reporting Relationship:</strong> Manager, Patient Food Services</p>\n<p><strong>Hiring Rate Range:</strong> $27.758 - $28.306</p>\n<p><strong>Shift: </strong>Must be available for all rotating shifts including alternating weekends  - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.</p>\n<p><strong>Employee Group: </strong>NOWU<strong>Location:</strong> Reactivation Care Centre– 200 Church street (subject to change)</p>\n<p><strong> Position Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Tray passing, diet changes and preparation and portioning of food items as necessary.</li>\n <li>Regular cleaning and sanitation of work areas and department equipment.</li>\n <li>Working in dish room and pot wash room washing dishes and cooking equipment.</li>\n <li>Removing garbage, recycling and slop from the department.</li>\n <li>Safely and properly handling cleaning chemicals used in the department.</li>\n <li>Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are stocked with clean wares as needed.</li>\n <li>Other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ontario Secondary School diploma, equivalent, or higher education required.</li>\n <li>Good command of the English language (English reading and writing test will be administered).</li>\n <li>Minimum of 3 years hospital food service experience, including safe food handling and HACCP knowledge preferred. </li>\n <li>Food Handlers Certificate Required.</li>\n <li>Computer Knowledge an asset</li>\n <li>Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutritional supplements.</li>\n <li>Ability to lift, pull and push weights of 25lbs or more frequently throughout shift.</li>\n <li>Must have a positive attitude and a genuine commitment to quality.</li>\n <li>Ability to work well under pressure.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing work routines or priorities.</li>\n <li>Able to work with minimal supervision.  Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated problem solving abilities.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills </li>\n <li>Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.    </li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
