This position develops and implements cognitive remediation programs, provides direct treatment services, conducts assessments, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to create individualized rehabilitation plans. The Cognitive Remediation Specialist plays a critical role in enhancing learning, problem-solving, memory, attention, and daily living skills while promoting a person-centered approach to care.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position: Cognitive Rehabilitation Specialist (Adult Residential Brain Injury Program)</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Hours: Monday: 8a-4p and Tues-Fri: 7:30a-3:30pm</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Location: Medford, NJ  </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Pay Rate: $23.48-$23.95/hr</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<h4>Key Responsibilities</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop and implement individualized and group cognitive remediation programs in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).</li>\n <li>Provide direct cognitive remediation treatment services in residential and day program settings.</li>\n <li>Assist in the development of treatment goals, objectives, and rehabilitation plans based on individual assessments and identified needs.</li>\n <li>Conduct individual and group sessions focused on improving cognitive, functional, and adaptive skills.</li>\n <li>Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and modify treatment plans as necessary to support rehabilitation goals.</li>\n <li>Recommend adaptive strategies, environmental accommodations, and functional supports to enhance learning and independence.</li>\n <li>Train and educate persons served, caregivers, and staff on cognitive remediation techniques, treatment plans, and adaptive equipment.</li>\n <li>Participate in assessments, screenings, and evaluations to determine rehabilitation needs and appropriate interventions.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation, including progress notes, treatment summaries, and reports.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with families, guardians, residential staff, clinicians, and other team members to ensure coordinated service delivery.</li>\n <li>Participate in team meetings, admissions assessments, family conferences, and Neurobehavioral Rounds.</li>\n <li>Provide crisis intervention support using approved de-escalation and intervention techniques.</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.</li>\n <li>Stay current with advancements in cognitive remediation practices through continuing education, professional development, and industry research.</li>\n <li>Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment while demonstrating Bancroft's core values and commitment to quality care.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Social Work, Recreation Therapy, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field required.</li>\n <li>Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, brain injuries, or neurological impairments preferred.</li>\n <li>Must meet certification criteria established by the Society for Cognitive Rehabilitation.</li>\n <li>Must obtain ACBIS (Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists) certification within one year of hire.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>EEO Statement</h2>\n<p>Bancroft stands strong against racism and hate of all kinds and supports actions leading to respect, equality, fairness and peace.
