Responsibilities & Qualifications The Novelis Guthrie, KY team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Management Systems Engineer for our Guthrie, KY facility. This role is responsible for providing continuous monitoring and improvement of the quality management system. The selected candidate will work closely with all levels of plant personnel. The QMS Engineer will be responsible for facilitating activities that progress the quality management systems in ways to meet business needs and adhere with external standards. We are looking for a collaborative teammate with initiative to own and drive Process Quality in alignment with the facilities Novelis Operating System - NOS®. A successful candidate will be self-directed and will have the ability to communicate with team members at all levels. Responsibilities: Manage the site Quality Business Management System maintenance and update including interfaces with external organizations primarily NOVI and ATL. Adhere to and implement regulatory requirements and standards certifications as required by the business unit. Primarily IATF16949, ISO9001-2015, ASI (Aluminum Stewardship Initiative) and CSR (Customer Specific Requirements). Collaborate with Customers representatives during customer directed audits. Plan and lead internal audit function and is responsible for planning and organization readiness for the annual registrar (Intertek) and corporate audits. As well as customer audits, surveys and assessments as needed. Responsible for Document Control and repository key user (EtQ). Responsible for LPA Audit Program Scheduling and completion follow up. Support Process Leader and PPQ Leader on Management Reviews, major quality initiatives and process improvements. Use NOS (Novelis Operating System) methodologies to resolve customer complaints and troubleshoot internal quality concerns. (Often involving provision of technical assistance and advice to the customer). Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a Scientific Field Minimum of five years of experience in relevant Quality management system responsibility with auto industry emphasis in a large-tier one organization. Assignments of increasing complexity and magnitude addressing implementation of IATF 16949 and will normally have worked in at least several deployment initiatives. IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 auditor trained & certified. Excellent communication (oral and written) and customer service skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization. Ability to use human relation skills to motivate, train, understand, influence, and develop others to attain the objectives. Desire to take initiative and develop a proactive relationship with employees through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship. Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail. Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment. Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new software programs quickly. Must also possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives.
