We would love for you to join our team! </p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Are you the one we’re looking for?</span></p>\n<p>We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Relief Youth Worker </span>who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Relief Youth Worker</span> provides in-person programming at two locations - creating a safe, engaging environment for youth ages 13-18.  Programming includes social and recreational programming (primarily basketball), homework support, and referrals, fostering improved youth outcomes and a better sense of community.  We are seeking a candidate with <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">flexible availability.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">unionized</span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">relief </span>position. The rate of pay is <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">$19.26 per hour</span>. This position entails working evening hours – specifically <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Monday to Friday, 5:45pm to 9:15pm</span>.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ol>\n<li>Foster an inclusive, supportive environment for youth ages 13-18.</li>\n<li>Work in collaboration with the Provincial Youth Outreach Workers team, connecting youth to further supports in the community.</li>\n<li>Encourage participation from youth in activities that interest them.</li>\n<li>Be an active participant, engaged, and role modelling positive behaviours for youth.</li>\n<li>Participate fully in staff supervision and in-service meetings as required.</li>\n<li>Be responsible for statistics, reports, etc. as required.</li>\n<li>Follow agency and program policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Build positive relationships with youth, both in-person, and virtually as needed.</li>\n<li>Actively supporting and education participants in the program to create a safe and inclusive space for all.</li>\n<li>Support in the further development of the program in partnership with the youth, program staff, and Program Manager.</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will bring:</span></p>\n<ol>\n<li>Graduate of Child and Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, or Recreation and Leisure diploma or a diploma/degree from a related discipline is preferred.</li>\n<li>Minimum one-year experience working with youth 13-18.</li>\n<li>Experience and sensitivity in working with a multicultural community.</li>\n<li>Good communication skills</li>\n<li>Staff with the ability to speak Arabic or Somali would be an asset.</li>\n</ol>",
