    "description": "<h2>More information about this job</h2>\n<p><strong>Overview</strong></p>\n<p>The Pipefitter Leadman assists the Foreman in managing the crew and is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of Pipefitter workers to ensure that work is performed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role requires knowledge of testing piping systems, oxygen and acetylene cutting, basic rigging, operation of pneumatic and electric tools, and leak testing tubing systems. The Leadman must understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work-related tools and equipment. This position may be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p>*The following are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Act as a working leader, assisting the Foreman in managing the crew</li>\n <li>Lead a small group of workers within the crew or handle specific tasks assigned by the Foreman</li>\n <li>Perform hands-on responsibilities, working alongside the crew while providing guidance</li>\n <li>Inspect the quality of all work to ensure standards and specifications are met</li>\n <li>Assist workers in their duties and resolve problems </li>\n <li>Must have knowledge of the company policies and safety regulations</li>\n <li>Read and interpret blueprints, ISO's field installations, material takeoffs, field sketches, and understand specifications</li>\n <li>Study specifications, plans and drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installation</li>\n <li>Lay out for pipe penetrations</li>\n <li>Lay out for equipment location</li>\n <li>Fabricate and install screw pipe, socket weld pipe, stainless tubing, carbon steel weld pipe, stainless steel weld pipe</li>\n <li>Miter and fabricate pipe</li>\n <li>Use beveling machine to prepare pipes/tubes for welding</li>\n <li>Install all sizes of piping in pipe racks</li>\n <li>Install valves, pipe hangers, and pipe supports</li>\n <li>Must be able to install all sizes of underground pipe</li>\n <li>Must be able to install steam and heat tracing</li>\n <li>Must be able to perform proper bolt up of various sizes on pipe and valve flanges</li>\n <li>Assist other craft workers as needed </li>\n <li>Possess some decision-making authority and report directly to the Foreman</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to push/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs., but may occasionally push/pull, lift, or carry up to 100 lbs.</li>\n <li>Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs</li>\n <li>Hand/eye coordination</li>\n <li>Must be able to communicate (hear, comprehend, and speak) to safely perform work</li>\n <li>Will need to be able to perform sedentary to heavy work</li>\n <li>May operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, and pneumatic) of all types</li>\n <li>Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds</li>\n <li>Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis</li>\n <li>Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing /pulling, or standing and lifting</li>\n <li>Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.</li>\n <li>May be required to work in confined spaces</li>\n <li>Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (Heat, Cold, Rain, Etc.)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Mental</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management/ supervision and field workers</li>\n <li>Reading and writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy</li>\n <li>Ability to use math/complete calculations</li>\n <li>Work at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractions</li>\n <li>Decision making skills necessary</li>\n <li>Detail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details</li>\n <li>Requires strong leadership and motivational skills</li>\n</ul>",
