    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Scope and Summary of Position</strong>:</p>\n<p><strong>About the Department:</strong></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Ursinus College Facilities ensures a quality physical environment supporting the mission of the college.&nbsp; This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, operating and repairing all forms of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, equipment and components (associated pumps, valves and controls) at Ursinus College.&nbsp; Employees of Ursinus College must possess excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and have an overall concern for the general welfare of the college and community and provide the best possible environment for education and student living.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>About the Position:</strong></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Our campus is in need of a skilled HVAC Technician.&nbsp; We have a great team and need an additional member to contribute to our busy environment.&nbsp; We want someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, and wants to make a noticeable impact.&nbsp; Our team is committed to a safe, functional, and clean community experience.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Great Benefits:</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A generous amount of paid time off, including 25 days of PTO, 5 wellness days, paid holidays, paid over a week winter break, summer hours, and more.</li>\n <li>Health, dental, and vision benefits.</li>\n <li>Free tuition.</li>\n <li>Tuition benefits for eligible family members.</li>\n <li>403b retirement program.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities</strong>:</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.25in\">&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Repair and Maintenance of HVAC equipment.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:1in\">&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Trans BAS knowledge a plus.</li>\n <li>Repair and adjustment of equipment to ensure proper indoor comfort.</li>\n <li>Equipment trouble shooting.&nbsp; Commercial rooftop, A/H, pumps, and drives.</li>\n <li>Perform preventative maintenance on all types of HVAC equipment.</li>\n <li>Ability to keep accurate records as needed.</li>\n <li>Order &amp; stock parts and supplies for HVAC equipment.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of commercial equipment and controls.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of split systems, air handlers, condensing units, boilers, pumps, valves, etc. is a plus.</li>\n <li>Perform low voltage control wiring and diagnostics. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.</li>\n <li>Supply own trade tools and hand tools.</li>\n <li>Respond to on – call and after-hours emergencies as needed.</li>\n <li>Ability to carry out basic plumbing, mechanical and electrical tasks.</li>\n <li>Special events support and snow removal as needed.</li>\n <li>Ice-machine and commercial refrigeration is a plus.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Mandatory</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>At least five years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC units, equipment, and systems.</li>\n <li>CFC Refrigeration Certification type II or Universal.</li>\n <li>Strong ability to make sound professional judgement and uphold ethics and confidentiality.</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills and ability work independently or as part of a team.</li>\n <li>Self-motivated and personally accountable.</li>\n <li>Ability to climb and maneuver on tight spaces, ladders, and work and staging platforms; ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds; strong ability to climb over and around equipment in construction locations; and ability to work 80-90% of the time standing.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Metal fabrication and welding</li>\n <li>Sheet metal work</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Other Duties:</strong></p>\n<p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual(s) assigned to this position.&nbsp; They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Job responsibilities and activities may be modified or changed at any time with or without notice.&nbsp; Job descriptions will be audited periodically by the Ursinus Human Resources department to ensure they are up-to-date and reflect the essential responsibilities and duties of the job.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Ursinus EEO Statement:</strong></p>\n<p>Ursinus is an EEO employer.&nbsp; Ursinus College does not discriminate on grounds of race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, age, creed, ancestry, veteran status, marital status, disability, or other classification protected by applicable law in the administration of any of its educational programs or activities or with respect to employment.</p>",
