The Director is responsible for budgetary oversight, directing, managing and evaluating program faculty and staff and clinical sites, and ensuring program compliance with accreditation requirements of the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The Director supervises the Assistant Director, program faculty, and administrative assistant(s), and fosters the development and delivery of best practices with respect to technology and pedagogy to achieve program learning outcomes.</span></span>&nbsp;All faculty positions have additional expectations for scholarship as well as university and community service.</span></span></p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.     "qualifications": "<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\"><span style=\"color:black\">Candidates must meet the following requirements:</span></span></span></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\"><span style=\"color:black\">Doctoral degree (Ph.D., DNP, EdD or equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher education that was accredited by an agency officially recognized by the US Secretary of Education to accredit institutions at the time the degree was conferred.</span>&nbsp;</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">Current or eligibility for an unencumbered STATE license as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN)&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">Current certification or recertification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist&nbsp;</span></span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p style=\"margin-left:48px\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">(CRNA) from the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse&nbsp;</span></span></p>\r\n\r\n<p style=\"margin-left:48px\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">Anesthetists (NBCRNA).&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></span></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and <span style=\"color:#4d5155\">Pediatric Advanced Life Support </span>&nbsp;<br />\r\n\t<span style=\"color:#4d5155\">(PALS) </span><span style=\"color:black\">certifications.&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">Minimum of five experiences as a CRNA&nbsp;</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\"><span style=\"color:black\">Minimum of two years teaching experience in a nurse anesthesia program.</span>&nbsp;</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\"><span style=\"color:black\">Two years&rsquo; experience as a nurse anesthesia program administration experience preferred.</span>&nbsp;</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\"><span style=\"color:black\">Defined program of scholarship and demonstrated nursing leadership.</span></span></span></li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">Required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (Board) prior to or within the first three years of employment, faculty must have education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, appropriate to faculty assignment. This preparation may be demonstrated by one of the following:</span></span></p>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">completion of 45 contact hours of Board-approved continuing education courses;</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">completion of a certificate program in nursing education;</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">nine semester hours of graduate course work in adult learning and learning principles;</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">national certification in nursing education; or</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">documentation of successful completion of structured, individualized development activities of at least 45 contact hours approved by the Board. Criteria for approval include content in the faculty role in the curriculum implementation, curricular objectives to be met and evaluated, review of strategies for identified student population, and expectations of student and faculty performance.</span></span></li>\r\n\t<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14px\">A letter from the controlling institution attesting that the program director has been approved by the controlling institution following the submission of a portfolio. Individuals with prior teaching experience in an academic setting seeking the program director position shall submit to the controlling institution for approval a portfolio detailing the individual&#39;s formal education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, which includes curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, appropriate to the program director role. A copy of this submission shall be provided to the Board upon request.</span></span></li>\r\n</ol>\r\n",
