          "text": "<p>We are currently looking for an experienced Construction Inspector to join our Infrastructure team in Ottawa. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of construction activities on infrastructure construction projects.&#xa0;</p><p>Job Responsibilities:&#xa0;&#xa0;</p><ul><li>Engineering site inspection on municipal construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications&#xa0;</li><li>Document construction site activities (keeping a detailed daily report log, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording as-built conditions) and&#xa0;identify&#xa0;and monitor deficiencies&#xa0;</li><li>Track and prepare&#xa0;end-of-month&#xa0;quantity reports for contractor progress payment&#xa0;</li><li>Provide problem resolution and field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues and&#xa0;participate&#xa0;in construction progress meetings&#xa0;</li><li>Arrange on-site geotechnical investigations and material testing (for concrete, granular materials, and asphalt) and coordinate with Engineering for specialist inspections&#xa0;</li><li>Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act on construction sites with authority to issue stop work orders; ensure proper Ministry and project procedures are followed to ensure public/pedestrian safety&#xa0;</li><li>Liaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as&#xa0;required&#xa0;</li></ul>",

          "text": "<ul><li>Experience in infrastructure construction, with direct experience in road and linear infrastructure&#xa0;required; 5+&#xa0;years experience&#xa0;preferred, but will consider candidates with at least 2 years of such experience&#xa0;</li><li>Effective communicator&#xa0;possessing&#xa0;demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, in matters arising from construction projects&#xa0;</li><li>Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications&#xa0;</li><li>MTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicle&#xa0;</li><li>Working knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) for Municipal projects&#xa0;</li><li>Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders including contractors and other site personnel&#xa0;</li><li>Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence&#xa0;</li></ul><p><strong>Assets:&#xa0;&#xa0;</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge of use of a construction level and surveying is an asset&#xa0;</li><li>Demonstrated skills in the use of computer utilizing programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, etc.), Bluebeam and AutoCAD (asset)&#xa0;</li><li>RCSI designation an asset&#xa0;</li><li>Eligible for P.Eng. or CET designation is an asset&#xa0;</li><li>Experience working on City of Ottawa infrastructure projects an asset&#xa0;</li></ul>",
