We foster a collaborative environment where curiosity, innovation, and professional growth are encouraged.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position plays an important role in delivering high-quality design solutions while supporting project execution, technical excellence, and client relationships.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Project Engineer works closely with <strong>Project Managers, mechanical and civil engineers, technicians, and municipal clients</strong> to deliver projects from planning and design through construction support while ensuring technical accuracy, quality, and schedule performance.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<h3>Mechanical Engineering Design</h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Support the planning and design of <strong>wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, and municipal pumping systems</strong></p></li>\n <li><p>Perform and review engineering calculations, hydraulic evaluations, and equipment sizing for mechanical systems</p></li>\n <li><p>Develop <strong>mechanical layouts, equipment specifications, and construction documents</strong></p></li>\n <li><p>Assist with the preparation of design reports, technical memoranda, and regulatory documentation</p></li>\n <li><p>Coordinate mechanical system integration with civil, electrical, and structural design teams</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Project Execution</h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Lead assigned project tasks and technical components with minimal oversight</p></li>\n <li><p>Monitor scope, schedule, and budgets for assigned project tasks and communicate progress with project leadership</p></li>\n <li><p>Coordinate work performed by technicians and junior staff to ensure consistency and quality</p></li>\n <li><p>Prepare construction specifications, cost estimates, and engineering documentation</p></li>\n <li><p>Support construction phase services including responding to contractor questions and reviewing submittals</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Field Work & Construction Support</h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observation</p></li>\n <li><p>Review construction progress and verify compliance with design plans and specifications</p></li>\n <li><p>Document field observations and assist in resolving technical issues during construction</p></li>\n <li><p>Support commissioning and startup activities for mechanical systems when applicable</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Collaboration & Continuous Improvement</h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Work closely with Project Managers and internal teams to ensure project goals are achieved</p></li>\n <li><p>Participate in client meetings and technical discussions related to project deliverables</p></li>\n <li><p>Mentor junior staff and support their professional development</p></li>\n <li><p>Contribute to proposal development and project pursuits</p></li>\n <li><p>Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, design standards, and project workflows</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h3>Education</h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p><strong>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering</strong> from an ABET-accredited program</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Experience</h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p><strong>4+ years of relevant post-graduate engineering experience</strong></p></li>\n <li><p>Experience supporting <strong>municipal infrastructure or water/wastewater projects</strong></p></li>\n <li><p>Experience with <strong>engineering design software, CADD/BIM tools, and hydraulic or process modeling systems</strong> preferred</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Skills</h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and municipal infrastructure systems</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience preparing technical reports, construction documents, and specifications</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to coordinate technical work across multidisciplinary project teams</p></li>\n <li><p>Strong problem-solving, organization, and project management skills</p></li>\n <li><p>Effective written and verbal communication skills</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Licensure</h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p><strong>Professional Engineer (PE) license required</strong></p></li>\n <li><p>Multi-state licensure may be required based on project assignments</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Why MSA</h3>\n<p>At MSA, our people are our greatest asset.
