    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a <strong>Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer </strong>with<strong> 3 years of experience and BS in Engineer.</strong> This position provides comprehensive lifecycle engineering support to the<strong> USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center.</strong>  Be part of a team that focuses on upgrading and sustaining cutters and boats to ensure continued operational effectiveness, safety, and compliance with current and future mission requirements.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>As a<strong> Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer​</strong> you will have the opportunity to do the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as propulsion systems & power generation systems.</li>\n <li>Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.</li>\n <li>Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases.</li>\n <li>Conduct analyses of propulsion systems and types, lead development of technical data packages and reviews. </li>\n <li>Conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration.</li>\n <li>Conduct marine engineering analysis.</li>\n <li>Create graphical representations of structures and systems.</li>\n <li>Inspect equipment or systems.</li>\n <li>Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.</li>\n <li>Prepare technical reports for internal use.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-EW1</p>\n<p>#hotjobs</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering</li>\n <li>Ability to obtain a secret clearance</li>\n <li>At least 3+ years of experience in marine specific fields (i.e. propulsion systems, power-generation systems, fluids and hydraulics)</li>\n <li>Experience with GE LM2500 or MTU Engines/Generators</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00/Yr. - USD $100,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
